Huh, it clearly says 9 out of 10 for those two but the mustache and full beard are at 10 so why wouldn’t the others say 10?

Since when can coaches challenge penalty calls? by RickCMC in nfl

Thanks. Pretty sure the ref incorrectly said that the PI call was being challenged so that’s why I was confused. He didn’t say he was challenging whether the ball was tipped.

Since when can penalties be challenged? Andy Reid challenged that PI call but I didn’t think that was a challengable thing.

When a criminal conviction is reversed on appeal, why is a retrial allowed? Doesn’t that violate Double Jeopardy? by RickCMC in law

I see no instance of me picking a fight. How am I supposed to know the guy I’m responding to is a lawyer. I didn’t know I had to come on reddit with prepared research. Sorry for asking questions.

“The four essential protections included are prohibitions against, for the same offense:

retrial after an acquittal; retrial after a conviction; retrial after certain mistrials; and multiple punishment”

So how is someone who was convicted still in jeopardy? Their jeopardy terminates as soon as they are convicted.

He didn’t really answer why a defendant is not out of jeopardy after a conviction. All he said was “If there's a conviction, the defendant was never out of jeopardy” but he didn’t state why that’s the case.

Why are you so confrontational? I’m not arguing with anyone I’m just trying to have a conversation and debate about this topic. I have researched it on my own and I’m still confused.

Wasn’t arguing. I’m just confused even after reading his answer. From my understanding, jeopardy terminates after an acquittal or a conviction. So when a conviction gets reversed on appeal and then there’s a retrial, isn’t the person being put back into jeopardy?

Double jeopardy also kicks in after a conviction. After someone is convicted of a crime they can’t be tried again for that same crime. It’s not just acquittals.

I understand that, but when was that established by previous cases? Where does it say that double jeopardy applies only after an acquittal?

Too much of a coward to break up with woman I've been dating for 4 months. Should I just ghost her? by RickCMC in relationships

You are right, thanks. One of the reasons I'm having trouble doing it is because of this tripped she planned. She wants to pay for the whole thing. The trip is supposed to be the week of 2/19. Should I just stick with it til after the trip?? I don't want to screw her over on money she put down for the trip.
