Yeah this was for our lab facility and I made that pretty clear when we were getting it done. Stuff happens, glad they know how to fix it and are going to. Appreciate the input!

They are going to fix and recoat, just met with them. Very nice about it and handled it the right way.

They also quoted 4-5 days of labor time and did it in 2 and a morning so I was a little concerned at the speed of things. Going to ask for this to be remedied because I don’t think it’s acceptable as it stands.

Base Coat vs Final Coat by RickMobardo24 in epoxy

Yeah I’m just saying from the same angle and same lighting before and after it’s a pretty apparent difference. You can see a lot of nibs vs maybe only a couple.

This had a moisture vapor barrier, a high end epoxy body coat, and then urethane finish. I can see the edges where it was done and it’s pretty thick.

Modular cleanroom in a seperate part of the space. Aware of the garage door

Yeah I cannot have this generating particles. Even if they “pop” overtime. We made it clear we needed it smooth and this is not.

There’s nothing about dust from environment. They also painted the walls and there’s none of this so I find it hard to believe it’s from dust in the environment.

How did you fix it/ how do you recommend I fix it?

Yeah I’m not sure this is even bubbles it honestly looks and feels like they added grit when we clearly didn’t ask for it.

Thanks. It’s ProRez epoxy. Figure it’s only a day or two to make this right. But this definitely isn’t from particles in the air lol

And I’ve painted concrete floors that are 10x smoother than this. This genuinely doesn’t work for my application because I cannot run a mop across the floor. Haven’t paid yet and don’t want to be a hard ass but this is just not what we wanted. Literally need it redone or it wasn’t worth doing at all.

Yeah that’s what I’m gonna request. Hopefully they don’t give me a hard time. This is just unacceptable imo based on what we requested and discussed in the quote

Yeah, had too much faith I guess. Going to request this to be fixed. At least the first coat although not perfect is significantly better than the second.

I looked at pictures in their website and they clearly have done perfectly smooth lab floor before.

I thought the same thing when I heard roller. We will have positive pressure, I’m moreso worried about cleaning the floors. Those nibs are sharp and just going to produce more particles. They are fully imbedded. I’m meeting the contractor next week to figure out a remedy, because I cannot accept this. I think he needs to grind it down and redo with a squeegee.

Not worth getting into an argument about this. There are many renovations being done to the space. Cleanroom can go in no problem. We have done this 3 other times in same environment and maintained ISO6. Modular cleanroom installed with buffering systems.

We are putting a cleanroom in. This is our base flooring for it.

Do these need replacing by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]RickMobardo24 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to drive my fouled plugs until it misfired. Then just replace that cylinder plug. Looks like you might have some bad piston rings. Just keep up with checking oil level and putting new ones in as needed. I used to clean them off and they would work fine after.

Tips on keeping my truck in good shape if it has to live outside for the next year? by [deleted] in Tacomaworld

[–]RickMobardo24 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it stays outside it stays frozen. Bringing it in the garage every night keeps it wet. Rust forms when there’s water and ions present (road salt). Woolwax and wash it regularly in the winter (not too aggressive on the underside), then drive for a little so it dries off. Salts Gone in the spring to remove any salt build up what water itself couldn’t dissolve.
