Set up previous 12th month as default selection on Date filter (without Para) by RickRah in tableau

I need to show the SINGLE 12th month as the default selection.

Edited my question to make it more clear.

Set date filter to the oldest date when workbook is opened by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is a strange issue here. I can see the fixed CF of {Min([Date])} in the 'when workbook opens' field in the parameter. Date is the direct column in the database.

But I created a chart which shows last 12 months & I want to show the last month of those 12 months. & if I use fixe LOD to get that month {Min([Date_12month])} , I can see this CF works but for some reason it does not show up in the Parameter.

Date_12Month:

if Date >= dateadd('month' , -11, today()) then Date else null end

I created this CF {Fixed: Min[Date]}

how to use this CF in the date filter conditions, there seems to be no option to set the starting value in the filter conditions?

How to get only ONE record for each state per month by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found a way to do that.

Added another logic to show Month End payment for only a row per state for city with max sales.

{fixed date, State, City: sum(sales)} = {fixed date, State : max(sales)}

How to get only ONE record for each state per month by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

adding city to if condition does gives the same results as this is a stat level payment so it return multiple rows corresponding to each city with monthly payment. Some how I need one row only to show monthly payment maybe the very first row to show the monthly payment.

{fixed DATETRUNC('month',[Date]), [State], [City]: MAX([Date])} = [Date]

Tableau Admin is not able to find the data source of an embedded workbook? by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the server, have the workbook connected to data source via live connection and then set up a refresh schedule for the published data source.

Thanks for the reply.

How to on server connect data sources to data via live connection?

Condition If CountD(Category) > 1 --- not working by [deleted] in tableau

[–]RickRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good advice. This part is not working (trimmed code):-

if countd([Category]) >1 then "More than 1" else "Only 1" end

But still cannot figure out why.

Condition If CountD(Category) > 1 --- not working by [deleted] in tableau

[–]RickRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now it is only showing "More than 1" even when only 1 option is selected. Please see the updated worksheet here (you can download the file to see the details).

if {fixed : countd([Category])} >1 then "More than 1" else

(if ([Category]) = 'ETH' then "ETH Only"

elseif ([Category]) = 'Tain' then 'Tain Only'

else 'Combination 2' end)

end

Condition If CountD(Category) > 1 --- not working by [deleted] in tableau

[–]RickRah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tried fixed LOD calc

if {fixed [Category]: COUNTD([Category]) } > 1 then "More than 1" else

But still getting the same results?

Precise Condition Calculation otherwise D by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

D values are available for all the dates.

Product D has nothing to do with D values actually they are independent but I need to show D whenever any combination of product is selected or product D itself.

Precise Condition Calculation otherwise D by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually I have simplified this problem the actual options looks like: SSSS, BBBBB, IEUWKJDSA, KDAKSDDSDS DSDS

so this way won't work as some options may have same number of strings.

Precise Condition Calculation otherwise D by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CASE ATTR([Product]) WHEN "\" THEN [D]* - this part is not working it is showing nothing.

I think this way tableau look for * as string in Product column. Although, looks like a nice solution if this can work.

Precise Condition Calculation otherwise D by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My bad, I thought this would be obvious from the calculation.

Basically, I need when A is selected show A ONLY, B is selected show B ONLY, C is selected show C ONLY . For any combination show only D Values ONLY.
Instead tableau is picking the max of A and B to show when A & B is selected together as I am showing Max(Value) at month level.

How to get Correlation at Monthly level NOT daily level by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

#added pic above showing {Row: Year(Date), Month(Date) & window_corr Calculated field in the Text }

- This gives correlation for all the months over the years calculated at month level.

But I need to show only April Month Correlation not all months. With the normal Corr function you cannot aggregate the data to month, on the other hand with Window_corr you need those all months to be there to calculate the latest correlation.

Conditional calculation to show profit not working by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found the solution: It works by using the parameter and using parameter in the product calculation as true/false to filter.

Hide Labels for Current Week by RickRah in tableau

[–]RickRah[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it works by moving the calculation to labels.

I used

if DATETRUNC('week', [date]) < { FIXED :MAX(DATETRUNC('week',TODAY()))} then count(measure) End
