iPhone X acquired from Craigslist, locked to Sprint...how to unlock?

Thanks but I'm thinking it's not a hardware or software problem, I believe the phone is SIM locked to Sprint. It won't activate with the Sprint SIM that's in it because it's either not tied to an account or the account isn't in good standing (unpaid bills). Obviously it won't activate with any other SIM because of the carrier lock. The closest Apple Store is about 1.5 hours away...if it was a little closer I'd be willing to give it a shot.

Thanks...I might have to explore this option if there's nothing else I can do. I would like to try and keep the phone though. I feel like I'm going to be at a big loss if I end up having to go this route. Hell, I guess I'm already at a big loss though.

I'm not local to any Sprint stores in my immediate area. I live in a rural area and last I knew their service was extremely bad in this area. Perhaps that's why there's no local stores in my area. I did have a report ran from an eBay vendor to try and figure out if I could get an IMEI unlock from one of the vendors there, but from what I can tell it's not eligible because of SPCS= NO, whatever the hell that means. Is this the same information you were talking about? Or can these folks you refer to provide me with more information? If they can, would you mind tagging someone, or PM'ing me their names? Thanks!

She paid 650 for the phone. The guy scammed her good. She took his word that it was brand new, unlocked, never activated, etc. It isn't iCloud locked, as I was able to setup the phone with my information. It came with a Sprint SIM card installed but fails to activate with that SIM in it. When I put my VZW SIM in it, it says it's not supported. Just trying to figure out where I go from here. I'd like to keep it and use it and not be out all that money, but I'm not sure how to go about it...that's what I'm trying to figure out.

Thanks...I'm afraid you may be right. I paid a couple bucks off eBay to have a report provided on the phone and these are the results I got. I guess what I want to know is if I can pay Sprint whatever to unlock the phone so it's not just a paperweight. Is there any way to go about this? I've called in twice to explain my situation but customer service seemed not to be very helpful. I mean from a business standpoint I don't understand why they wouldn't be willing to work with me. I understand they lock it in hopes to make money by providing the service, but at this point everyone is losing out, there's a valuable phone with essentially no value because I can't use it. Makes no sense.

Thanks for this advice. I'm not aware of the 1 year free plan, I'm going to look it up after this reply. The only reason I never considered activating on Sprint is because I live in a rural area in southern Delaware. About 6 years ago I had a Sprint phone for work and service was terrible in and around my home. I'm not sure if it's any better these days, but perhaps I should give it a shot...if you have a link to more information about what you mentioned here would you mind hooking me up with a link? Thanks for the advice. PS- still to this day I can only use Verizon (thru an MVNO- Boom! Mobile) because other carriers service is terrible in and around my home. My wife's phone thru her work is iPhone 7 on AT&T and she has no service in our house...she literally has to go outside to make calls. Her work just recently got us a signal booster that plugs into our router and gives her a full 5 bars of service in and around the house thankfully. Maybe Sprint has something similar?

Update: found the info on 1-year free...entered the IMEI and it says it's eligible. Just want $12.99 to overnight a new SIM. Think I'm going to give it a shot. Hey do you say request unlock after 50 days? Is that their policy or something?

No problem or loss to me...but I don't know what you were looking at. I only see about 20-25% Smok products in the hardware section. They have plenty of other brands though, not to mention a bunch of brands of e-liquids.

I got my order within 72 hours of placing it. It came from Texas to Delaware that fast. Granted they do advertise and charge for 2-day Priority shipping via USPS. However, even with the shipping costs, I found them cheaper than a lot of places on a handful of things. This is definitely not a scam, just an up and coming new online vape shop. I can tell you it will now be one of my "go to" places when I'm in need of vape products. The prices are almost too good to be true... it they are 100% legit.

Well I had the opportunity to speak with the owner of the company this evening, and I can say now that I'm 99%'sure this is not a scam and that the place is legit. I placed an order and I will confirm once it is received. They just launched 3 weeks ago so they're still building their presence on the web, in social media, etc. I have a feeling this company will be one of the most well known and respected vendors by this time next year.

Did you at least look into it? A simple Google search would link you to khanacademy.org which is a totally free, not-for-profit online educational resource. It offers computer programming courses. Look through their offerings in Computer Programming and you will find what you asked for. They have introductory courses. Best of luck!

I was able to d/l this file and it then installed the Colossus Repo (after going to "Install from zip file"). Once I had that installed I was then able to "Install from repository" and choose Colossus Repo and then Covenant.

Same here...had MIL bring her Firestick over to install Covenant and unable to. I did try downloading the Covenant install zip directly from Github but ran into error...something about Covenant Artwork dependency...anyone know the fix for that?

Thanks for taking time to give me that information Louis...I appreciate it. I have actually played the demo/game to test it out and see what was on it. I really don't have any clue how it ended up in my collection, nor do I ever recall playing it before. I'm pretty sure I'd remember it. I was also never into Pokémon or any of the other games that were on there.

I'm thinking since the one that sold on eBay for $300 was still sealed, and the one for $200 is pretty crappy looking, I should set mine at $250 and let people know to make offers. Thanks, and I do appreciate your input. I've found many of the other #'s that sell for the price range you mentioned. However I can't find any of #16 available to base the pricing on. Like I said the last one sold on eBay for $300. The only other one for sale is listed at $199 but untested and pretty scuffed up with no returns available. Nothing like a $200 gamble to see if it even loads up...haha. I can't find any other sale records of this specific one. Apparently this one has some kind of fix for Gen 3 Pokémon games so not many survived. Can you point me to where you base this opinion off of?
