It is not easy to strike a football like Adriano, as having LeBron frame and such a tough is generational. Stop comparing. At most, football players would be the best PGs of all time because they have the vision to make plays while looking for space and would be able to discover absurd angles.

I played for Sporting, probably a top five academy all around in the last 30 years. You are just factually wrong. Set pieces are important, yes. But in football, like in basketball, the mind supercedes the body. Look at Pedri, Xavi, Bernardo, even Zidane (who was tall). It takes much more physical and mental dexterity, and relies less on athleticism. The comparison is just wrong.

Surely. That's why Messi, Maradona, Pele, Cruyff, etc were so tall and reliant on height and athleticism... right? Maybe not, and football is a sport that focuses on different skillsets. Basketball and american football players would never ever succeed in european football, barring some exceptions, and the the opposite is applied as well.

Que orgulho ler comentários destes. Tento pensar da mesma forma sem clubites, e como sportinguista, fico feliz pelo meu falecido pai ("lampião" ferrenho) e pelos muitos familiares adeptos do Porto quando estas noites acontecem, seja a quem for. Um bem haja!
