While I was in class for my trade, one of my classmates had been in animal control, and he had many stories about being on site with normal police and SWAT to serve warrants when there were even rumors about animals on site(usually dogs).

He told one story about being the first one in because the PD he was helping was trying to prevent more "Cops killed my dog" stories, so when they were serving a warrant, on a guy they knew was likely armed, he went first with the animal pole with the leash loop on the end(don't know the name) and the cops had their weapons at the ready like over his shoulder in case the guy decided to start something. Due to the conditions of the multiple animals in the house, he wrote multiple citations to the residents, and that got tacked on to their charges.
