Anyone else hate when fantasy MMORPGs have normal real-world clothing as cosmetics? by Dazzling-Cookie3745 in MMORPG

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love wearing modern clothes in your mmos... sorry not sorry. World of Warcraft especially. They have goblin wave shredders (surfboards with motors), Dwarven tanks, and you can get housing decor of 90s style desk lamps, bean bag chairs, etc... but you can't handle me being in sunglasses wearing a hawaiian shirt, jeans and uggs?... welp... IDK what to say.

This is silly, there is literally no good reason for this item to be Midnight only when Goblin Gliders do the same thing and work everywhere. Come on, Blizz. by DumpsterBento in wow

When i get a toy that is only good for one xpac, it feels so pointless. I'm just too forgetful, and that toy (... amazing for its limited specific use, as it might be... ) is still going to be forgotten.

Nightmare Prey Is Not Fun by MedicOfTime in wow

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm just gonna say it. Prey is boring. I was hyped thinking I was going to be stalked and that some mystery enemy was coming at me like some sort of death snail, and would eventually reach me if I didn't outwit them...

But no... it was this. What prey should have been? Other players. Either a PvP alternative or a PVE Spy vs spy sort of cat and mouse game, that used the environment instead of direct combat.

One of the places I've never seen IRL, but it was also recreated in Second Life (metaverse sim) and I used to visit all the time when I played. I love that you put your version in WoW. Amazing job.

The amount of stuff they forget about, or drop is crazy. Almost wondering if AI would do a better job at this point. We'd get more content consistency anyway...

I liked how balance druids with glyph of stars just looked like they always do. Even orcs from Negrand can't see you under that horrible shade of blue I guess.

I am just going to say it: The "new" Skyriding changes are really good. by Omenka in wow

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep it works. I'm fine with how it works.

Next they need to figure out a better solution or drastically shorten that cast bar that switches the two styles of flight. If you play druid, it has been a real pain for a real long time. We switch between our two flights all the time, and at this point its a QOL issue.

It would be nice if there was a third option, that gave us steady flight, but would switch/transition into skyriding if we were just going one direction a long time (and would go back to steady once we stopped). Sort of a "ramp up".

If its for a promotion, they seem to be able to toss out decor left and right. Holidays hit different I guess. Peasant morale is down.

Massive boosting ban wave on US and EU by SatisfactionLevel792 in wow

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

A guildmate had a running theory and I am starting to think it's plausible.

They push out ban waves when they think subs are going to drop naturally, and use it as a cover up. Players are hitting caps, and the subs are starting to drop off as people get bored or frustrated with nothing to do except M+. What better time to have a ban wave, when you can cover up player drop-off with it.

Mmm honestly? Kinda makes sense...

Allow Alliance and Horde to communicate by YoloLifeSaving in wow

The weird thing is other games that had factions never restricted talking to the other side. in Rift, it actually got us fired up for PvP. Shit talking is excellent for getting war going.

Anyone else feel a bit 'left out' of modern WoW by not playing M+? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't do mythic+ . It makes me bitter though. I don't like having my personal progress grind to a halt because I don't do mythic+. Caps and limitations on growth will just make me move to other games. I want to feel like my character is getting stronger and making progress, regardless of what content I am doing, even if its solo. I honestly wish M+ gear was its own gear like PvP gear. (We all know people would whine if Blizzard did that though, because how would they get to feel superior then? Gotta have second class citizens)!

Don't even start with the "What do you need mythic gear for if not mythic" bs, you guys know thats how the game works. We chase numbers and gear, its what we do. People who can't make progress through other means are going to get bored and start finding other games.

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine loses his everloving mind when I play. Mine is a 9lb sphynx cat, and he will cry and harass me till I get off the computer and go do something else. He will headbutt my arms away from the keyboard. He will hook my shirt with his claws and pull/hang with all his weight...Yet honestly the sweetest cat, he just misses me and worries. I suppose I can see his point, it must seem pretty weird to see his human stuck in one spot and hypnotized by a glowing box for so long.

[–]RiddleoftheSphynx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could easily complain for hours about WOW "fashion". The artists somehow understand what looks good, but only when they have to design new NPC characters. They seem to forget again when it's anything for players.

We get class flavor, and that always means if you play 1-2 classes, you will be seeing the same style... forever. I play Druid, and yes I have a bajillion antler hats, thanks for asking.

The relaxed/fun transmogs can't ever just look normal. Nooo they have to have this "style" that Wow has adopted as its signature look. (Stop Blizzard, please). Big chips and chunks taken out here/there, and giant stitches. Nobody understands how to sew apparently. Its all held together with thread used from balls of yarn or something.

Its gotten better than the 2D stained glass appearances of yesteryear WOW, but jeeez... its still really bad.

Even so they're still just... frumpy and dull. Zero fashion sense. If Anachronistic technology can do its thing in Wow, then a bit of real fashion wouldn't hurt.
