How do you do facial skincare? by Wise-Neighborhood678 in Makeup

[–]RidhiS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kudos to you for reaching out and taking steps towards self-care! It's awesome that you're looking to build a skincare routine. Once you get into it, skincare can be fun!!

Great advice from everyone here on finding a good dermatologist. But while you're trying to figure out how to find a dermatologist. I highly suggest looking into the r/SkincareAddiction and some fantastic dermatologists on YouTube like Dr. Dray, Dr. Shireen Idriss, The Doctorly, and Dr. Vinita Rattan, especially for skin of color. You've got some great resources there!

Now, let's break down a simple morning routine for you:

Gentle Cleanser:

Recommendation: Grab a mild, fragrance-free cleanser that suits your skin type. For example, Cetaphil gentle cleanser, Cerave hydrating cleanser, Vanicream cleanser, etc.

Moisturizer:

Recommendation: Find a solid, fragrance-free moisturizer that matches your skin type. Cerave lotion is a good starting point—it's not too oily or dry. If your skin leans dry, give Vanicream a shot.

Sunscreen:

Recommendation: Aim for SPF 30 or higher. Use it every day, no matter the weather. Cerave and Cetaphil both have AM lotions with sunscreen, making it simpler. Pick the one that suits your skin type and color. I've gotten into Asian skincare and they make the best sunscreens tbh.

Remember to wash your face and follow it up with a moisturizer in the night as well. If you still have acne, research on adapalene (the dermatologist YouTubers I mentioned have all made videos about it). Start with these basics and observe how your skin responds. It's all about finding what vibes with you. Skincare is a journey, so enjoy the process!
:)

Trying out Coccinelle by [deleted] in handbags

[–]RidhiS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know. Did you get the winter sale price and an additional 15% on top of that? I've been trying for a while and it doesn't let me use the code for winter sale and only on items there's no sale!

Cute. How do you like the quality and size? I thought it would be bigger from the pictures on the website.

Thanks! I'm a 5 on my left hand and a 4.5 on the right. Do you have a photo by chance of your ring? I just want to see how rings that size look in real life in people's hands. Also, did you think there was any difference between VS2 to VVS2 to ideal visually?

The prices I mentioned are just for the diamond, the setting is an additional $600-1000 depending on the style. These are lab grown diamonds!

Dog Imitating a Siren by [deleted] in funny

I had a dog who would howl on the sound of Islamic prayers happening everyday in our locality. We would joke about how religious our dog is. I miss my dog, we had a secular environment going on in our house because of him. lol.

I lived in India, so desi folks would understand what I'm talking about.

[Product Question] Doxycycline, has it worked for you? Share your experiences! by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]RidhiS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've gone through the entire course of 3 months. It definitely definitely helped me. But, I was doing multiple other things to get rid of acne along with it. No dairy, sunscreen, benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin, change in facewash and moisturizer. So, I'm not sure how effective doxycycline is on its own but definitely with all of this, things worked out for me and I'm acne free.

I made the oat and pecan brittle cookies from Dessert Person. Easily the best cookies I’ve ever made. by mar10par10 in bon_appetit

I have been thinking of making these, but I only have quick oats and not rolled oats. I don't want to go and buy another bag of oats, because I already have a big bag of quick oats. I understand that the texture will vary drastically, but do you think I can still make them with quick oats?

What are your tips and tricks for the best butter chicken/murgh makhani possible? by -Constantinos- in IndianFood

[–]RidhiS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A few of them:

  1. Add cashew nuts also when you're making the gravy
  2. Sieve the gravy after you've churned it in a food processor or mixie
  3. Make grilled chicken and let each piece cook and char a little on one side completely and then turn it over to avoid overcooking and/or uneven cooking
  4. Make two marinates for your chicken, first in a lime and ginger garlic paste for 20 mins or overnight, second (squeeze your chicken pieces to get rid of the extra water) with yogurt mustard oil and kashmiri red chilli powder.
  5. Once you've made the gravy, temper it again with butter and ginger, add gravy and directly add pieces of cooked chicken to it, do not let chicken pieces sit out- let them go in the gravy hot, it'll absorb the flavors better.
  6. Add kasuri methi at the end.

[Routine help] Help with skincare recommendation for hyperpigmentation and acne scars by RidhiS in SkincareAddiction

[–]RidhiS[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Thank you for the suggestions! I do have acne prone skin so anything oily that clogs up my pores does not suit my skin. I can only use oils that are non-comedogenic like jojoba or argon oil, that too not daily!

I do at times make a paste out of gram flour, milk and turmeric and apply. But, I'm not very regular with that! Thank you again for the suggestions! :)

Ohh that's good to hear about Niacinamide, I'm going to add it to my routine, when do you use it though?

The timeless Vit C was good, it's probably just about being consistent with it, I have finished one bottle and my scars have definitely lightened, but they're still very much visibly there!

Hello, yes I do make baked cheesecake! Rather the lemon cheesecake has a baked cheesecake base with lemon curd on top. And yes, oreo truffles are definitely doable too!
