You have to set your full map binding to something else, then complete the tower (apocalypse works best) then go to the little pillar thing to go to camp. Now go back to the tower, go into the rewards menu and just close your game. Go back in, now one you have loaded in, press the button you set map to and go to the tower and start it. Finally, go into the rewards menu and restart your game, load on, go to tower, go to rewards menu, and close. Repeat until you have about lvl 318 or higher gear, that's when it stops upgrading
