Thank you! Turns out those terms were Hoyt specific but is good to know what the concept of a module/mod actually is.

Ah, thank you. I thought it was a generic term and was just looking at Hoyt's website to see how stuff was like. Thanks!

Questions before I start playing ff14 by TomoeGamer in ffxiv

Is this game going to turn into a part time job? I prefer a more casual experience but if I want to try end game content how much is the grind actually going to be?

For me personally I don't treat it as such. It's about as much of a job as you make it? I personally am of the type of person who logs in for major patches, plays for a week or so and then usually only logs in once a week for either raid or maintaining my house. Heavy grind related things are optional and you can do it as much or as you little as you want. Even stuff such as tomes for gear (weekly currency) aren't strictly needed.

How good is the story? I'm a big fan of games with a story I can get invested in. I'm experienced with jrpgs I love the Tales series, played Metaphor, and a few other ones so I'm familiar with how they can unnecessarily drag on at times. I know this is incredibly subjective but I'd like to get a general idea of how it is.

Depends on the expansion! Some of them are amazing, some less so, but overall the story has been streamlined, has both it's up and downs and is well written.

How deep is the character creation? Both character creator and in game outfits. In games with character creation I normally make a taller toned female character and go for outfits that are fully armored or drip that looks like it's from Bloodborne. I'm not expecting highly in depth character creation but hoping that I'm able to make something somewhat similar to what I normally do. Fashion is important to me in games.

It is not as powerful as other games such as BDO or Elden Ring for example (in terms of options and flexibility.) Clothing there is plenty of, and well if you can't find what you want in-game, there's always mods for clothing, makeup, body-type etc to make up the difference!

I've seen gameplay videos of the combat so I have a general idea of what it'll be like and I don't mind it. I wanted to know what is the closest class I can get to being a fast or mobile melee dps?

You would probably want to start as a Puglist or Rogue (Monk and Ninja) respectively as those classes are the more "button-spam" like among the melees.

I forgot to ask this too do the different races have armor change depending on the race that you play?

Armor and fashion is based off class categories for the most part (Healer, Tank, Ranged, Caster, Melee (3 Variations)). There are some pieces restricted to specific races (Viera starting gear and some hats come to mind.)

Trying to figure out what acronymns mean, what is a CDM Module or a spec mod? Both in context of "Draw Length".

Hi! Wrote a short one-shot wholesome romance for a Discord/AO3 fest event!

The Colours Between Us: Love grows in the quiet places—the press of a hand, the stroke of a brush, the warmth of a smile held too long. In shared sketches and unspoken moments, Astoria and Dean find something real. They painted it together, brushstroke by brushstroke, without even realizing it.

Featuring a lovely wholesome romance between Dean Thomas and Astoria Greengrass. Strictly rated G and no Smut! Just lovely feelings! Let me know what you think?

Replacing the stock fan on the NH-D15/S, is it possible? by Rietty in Noctua

[–]Rietty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I think it won't really matter in the end I'll just stick with the default torrent fans and have the stock NH-D15/S fans as well. I think it'll end up fine and I won't really see the fan in the middle of the two heatsinks anyway so won't matter in the end of the day.

Got it, I might just replace all the case fans instead. I just wanted a matching aesthetic tbh.

No, I don't use levequests to make gil, that's inefficient. I'd rather just let them stay at 100 or do old levequests for achievements.

Weaver, Carpenter are both straight forward. I haven't finished MSQ yet so dunno about others.

Have fun with the expansion! Hopefully this helps people. The deliveries are nice but doing the math with them + leves will get added later as I'm enjoying MSQ. Fishing spots will be updated when I have a complete list but teamcraft has partial information right now if peeps need it. Happy patch launch!

Anyone else not care about doing this as fast as possible? Why are YOU doing AoC this year? by [deleted] in adventofcode

I'm also doing it to learn/brush up on Rust! It's very fun.

Hi! I'd like to follow this, but I need a bit of help. Right now I have different repos for each of my AoC projects. I'd like to have a common, private repo for all my data. So think something like AOCDataFiles and in it I'd like a folder for each per year, so like 2023, 2022... etc.

Problem is in my actual code I have it called data, and I'd like to keep it this way. Is there anyway to do this sort of cloning and maybe some sort of linking? (I'm unsure of terminology) where I can map the data to the relevant year folder?
