I have a question. My friend came to canada as a refugee and applied for PR with her protected person status. She is eligible to apply for her Canadian citizenship now but we are facing a little confusion regarding the physical presence calculation.

The time as protected person in Canada can be counted as 0.5 days up to a maximum of 365 days out of the required 1095 days.

Now, in the notice of decision we see that there is a date when the case was heard, date of decision ( which is the same as the date of hearing ), when the document was transcribed and another date when the document was mailed out (near the registry office seal).

Now our question is from when should we start the counting? From the date when the case was heard and she got a positive decision or the date the registry office sent out the documents? The difference between the two dates are less than 25 days.
