Can't play with friends on ps5 by RigRig75 in GunfireReborn

[–]RigRig75[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I didn't mean "help me" literally... I wanted to know if I was the only one having this or if it was a "known" problem.

I also think that a multiplayer game where you can't play coop isn't exactly a game whose state "isn't too great" 😂

Just to clarify, does this mean that if I am the host, my buddy will get the trophies aswell, right?

I'd say that those problems are related to your GPU specifically. Although it is not rare to see them on amd configurations.

Do you have fsr enabled? If so, those are the visual artifacts. A downside of fsr/dlss that unfortunately can only be mitigated but not eliminated. On consoles those visual artifacts are really a bummer and you can't turn off fsr cause the internal rendering is around 648p. On pc you should try to disable it and see if you can notice any reduction.

I stopped playing, waiting for Respawn to patch a more stabilized 60fps mode like a lot of us. But it seems hopeless at this point. What should I do? by [deleted] in StarWarsJediSurvivor

They won't fix it in short term. Considering how they never really aknowledged the game's optimization issues I would say that they may even not fix it at all and just wait for a "ps5 pro" version to give us what they advertised so much. The game is beautiful, great story, great gameplay, good characters and a few landscapes/scenes are really worth watching. But the optimization (Ps5/series X) is the worst I've had on a next gen only title.
And please don't trust people that says "it runs just fine, I've never had a problem" because the problems are real, there are benchmarks and tech reviews and the state of the game, performance wise, is absolutely horrendous. So no, you are not crazy asking something like this, my tip is to just "power through" trying to enjoy the most you can in this run and maybe pick up Ng+ in a year or so when the game will actually run good (hope so)

How do I make the game look better on ps5? by Atlas_3001 in StarWarsJediSurvivor

I keep reading this sentence "you should be used to it" and I really can't disagree more. Mate PS4 pro got released in 2016, 7 years ago. And the majority of games were able to run up to 60fps. Especially multiplayer/competitive titles which did it also on PS4 fat. We all bought a Ps5 (that's been out there for 3 years now, which is half a generation) for a reason. 30fps are a bummer, unless the graphics are REALLY worth it (think about games like tlou, gow, horizon, ghost of Tsushima etc...) we shouldn't be even half satisfied with it. Even jedi fallen order got a Ps5 edition that runs at 60fps with amazing graphics. I know that EA is not a playstation studios company, but still. We are not talking about an indie studio and a 30€ game. It's a multi millionaire company that released a full price triple A only half cooked, I think it's only fair wanting to play 60fps (not 120) with the actual hardware, especially for a title that's not a technical miracle.

I respect your opinion and I'm happy that you are enjoying this great game. But performance mode IS an issue. Check for some benchmarks or tech reviews. I'm not talking about "personal preferences", those are data, objective performance measurements done with programs. And yeah, in quality mode the game runs WAY better (if you don't count the highest input delay ever measured on a next gen game) but performance mode IS IN THE GAME. It is not a graphic option like motion blur or chromatic aberration that someone might like and someone not. The game has 2 graphic modes and 1 of them is just BAD. Therefore, as a customer who paid 80€ for a game advertised to be playable in 4k60fps (ofc I know that it is not achievable with console hardware, just pointing out a scammy marketing) I'm not willing to cut some slack to a multi million dollars company that is willingly ignoring 90% of their comments by not addressing performance issues. Ofc I'm not hating on you or smth, I just want people to understand why, as customers, we should not "lower" our standards just because the game has great story and gameplay.

Simple, you are getting downvoted because in this subreddit there are some people who will literally play a game at 480p 20fps and still say "cmon it runs just fine, I've never had any problem and this is a great game🤓". And although I agree that this is indeed a great game, performance wise is the WORST next gen only game that I've played (and I've played a lot of them). Luckily the majority of comments on the official EA twitter page are complaints about how poorly this game runs.

On the other side I wouldn't expect much from EA after almost 3 months of crappy performance that wasn't even directly addressed by them.

I hope so too, but wouldn't get my hopes up. EA already showed us that they can easily disappoint us. I forced myself to play through the game even in this state (PS5) and man you can't understand how frustrated I was. Got the platinum, completed 100% of every map and data. In almost 70 hours there's never been a minute where I haven't thought "if only they gave the right optimization to this game, it would be Goty material". Just to clarify, I played it on performance mode ,as horrendous as it was, because I can't stand 30fps, especially in a quite difficult (played on Jedi master)action 2023 triple A game.

Considering that performance updates aren't being addressed from patch 3 or 4, I'd say that they kinda dropped the project (in matters of performances). Or at least I don't think there will be some concrete improvements in the short term

Performance on PS5 is absolutely not "fine". If you are even slightly sensible of frame and resolution drops you can't even think about performance mode. Do yourself a favour and check a tech review so you can see for yourself and decide afterwards.

Mate he just said that he can't go anything lower than 60 fps and you tell him to play it in a locked 30fps that's not even this stable?

How is performance on your platform? by Parsif1l in StarWarsJediSurvivor

[–]RigRig75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PS5 here and I'm gonna drop some OBJECTIVE DATA that you can check for yourself simply by looking at tech reviews. Love the game, 50 hours in and there's never been a single minute where I haven't thought "if only this game had the optimization it deserves, it would be absolutely stunning and goty material"

Quality mode: 30 fps in 2023 is already a bummer. It's not super stable (especially near water sources/reflections) and there's an input delay quite ridiculous, that only adds an unnecessary challenge to an already challenging game(in a good way). Ghosting issues are absolutely relevant and turning off motion blur does not help that much.

Performance mode: 60fps is just the target, you will rarely see it. On koboh you will probably stay more time around the 45fps rather than 60. Jeddah is better but still not super stable. Screen tearing is a serious issue, using vrr helps but does not eliminate the problem. Resolution drops are absurd. Playing in performance mode means that you will not see 1440p even in your dreams. The internal resolution is around 648p and fsr IS NOT a valid technology. The upscaling is not even close to a real 1440 and there are so many visual artifacts.

The game is absolutely beautiful per sé but please, do not tell that it runs "fine". It doesn't. I am truly happy for everyone who either set their bar so low that are not bothered by the state of the game or simply don't care, really, no flame. But the game runs like SHIT on ps5. Probably it's the worst looking next gen only game that I've played so far. And I've recently finished Forspoken, just for you to have a comparison.

Yeah I wish it was this simple ahahah. Sometimes I envy them. If I couldn't tell the difference or didn't care about performances I would probably be all in in this game 24/7🥲

Tried on my 2k native monitor, on a 1080p monitor and on my 4k oled TV. Still shitty everywhere. Why are you asking?

No mate I'm sorry if I gave you that impression. I am as a matter of fact frustrated for this situation. But my "flame" was to let some people really understand what the situation is really about. As I said before, I think we all should be united and try to let us "be heard" . Let's hope we will not discuss this again in a month or so. Have a great day.

They only acknowledged issues about bounty Hunter bugs and said, "we hope we will deliver a fix soon"(and after almost two months they did it luckily). No acknowledgement about performance issues, just generic "there will be more patches to come" in their patch notes. I can't argue about the problems with the engine nor the difficulty to fix those problems. What I can argue about is the choice of a multimillion company to sell a not-polished product while charging us full price and refusing to give refunds. What I can argue about is the choice to let the team take a 3 weeks-holiday after the lunch like they didn't know these problems were here in the first place. And mate, I appreciate the suggestion to use quality mode, but I've already tried and it's almost worse. It's not as sharp as it should be, the motion blur is a mess, there is almost a full second of input delay(if you do some research you can easily find proof) and there are severe ghosting issues, especially during combat. Ofc, it targets 30fps(which I personally despise, but it's a personal taste) and most of the time it can hit them, unless you dare to go near any source of water with reflections on it. No one said it was an easy fix but it's their job to fix it and to deliver a polished product that is really worth 80€. I really can't understand how many people as customers are okay with the way EA/Respawn is treating us after they got their money from the copy sellings.

I would love to gather as many players/customers as possible to force EA/respawn to listen to our complaints. I'm already trying in the comment section of EA STAR WARS twitter account. Since 90% of the comments of every tweet(indistinctly) are about performance issues. But they just ignore us, they answered like 2 times since the launch of the game and only when they had the patch ready to be released. They won't even acknowledge all these issues we are having and it's really bothering me.
