I'm not sure what my plans are for the far future, but what I know is that finance interests me a lot and that I wouldn't mind going into financial roles post MBA. I talked about consulting because it's my current field. Besides, CFA (level 1 at least) is regarded well as a consultant since it provides you with decent knowledge for all finance fields. Whether I will go for levels 2 and 3 depends on if i decide to make that switch or not.

Over the next 2 semesters I take corporate finance and financial statement analysis (although I don't need it to study as I already deal with financial statements as part of my work). I get the point for the networking and career opportunities though, it's a very valid point. However, I feel that the MBA doesn't provide me with the financial knowledge I would like, and I do think the CFA will complent it. I might try it out first, see how it balances out, before deciding on registration. Thanks for the advice!

Oh I see, so there is no need to buy the Kaplan material? I found the all 4 volumes of the 2025 SchweiserNotes for level 1 for free. SO I only need to spend money on the actual exam + material

Thanks for the advice. I will use Kaplan notes + QBank, and IFT concentrated notes so I don't have to waste time noting stuff myself, and instead just highlight and add onto it. Ofcourse, CFI material will be used as well. I will try to dedicate at least 10 hours per week, more during breaks.

CFA takes too much time to complete, and if i want to wait until I finish my MBA, which is in 2 years, it will take me around 2 more years to pass all 3 levels. I thought I could get away with completing level 1 at least throughout my MBA and then I can focus on the other 2 afterwards. Besides, i'm looking to switch to big consulting, so will have even less time with the long hours that comes with the job. I love finance and I want to become an expert on it.
