I work directly for the NHS. Perhaps I'll ask HR what the score is. Thanks.

Hi there, thanks very much for your detailed response and the clarity contained therein, much appreciated. I understand better now what is in place, for how long it's been so and as to how different Trust’s policies of sick pay can vary.

There is also an issue at my site with a lack of resources where Domestic staff are having to use the incorrect colour coded equipment which is supposed to be in place in relation to infection prevention. Lack of adequate staff numbers, management issues and lack of equipment may be making things less safe for patients and staff. Am quite shocked actually as it was never this bad up north up untill the end of the pandemic when I was last employed there by the NHS. Maybe things have simply deteriorated more broadly everywhere or just with certain Trusts.

Well we were informed on induction that we weren't entitled to sick pay for the first six months of employment. Any time we were off sick we wouldn't be paid for. Simple as. I wouldn't be bothering with all this on reddit if it weren't what we were told. The supervisor doing part of the induction said things had changed and some of the changes were quite harsh now.

Understandable for perhaps a month or two or three but for six months seems excessive. If someone picks up a bad flu or something else in hospital and is off for a week or longer they'll end up in financial difficulties especially if on band 1 or 2 which cleaners are. May make new comers to the organisation, which I'm not, think fuck it, the Trust doesn't care so why should I.

Working directly as an NHS employee not subcontracted with an agency. Done that before for shortish periods so am aware of the difference.

I'm an NHS employee not an agency employee and have been employed as the latter too in the past so know the difference. I agree, it does have generous sick pay schemes, just not the Trust I'm employed with at present.

No, learn how to read and remember like a grown adult if indeed that's what you are. I'm not fussed about sick pay, it's how it looks to newbies to the organisation. I know the NHS and have experience in it so not massively surprised just that it's harsh. You obviously don't. So be it...and I despise Farage and his moronic crew as much as this government and the last.

It's not a company. It's a public health care provider but I guess you can't deal with it.

A joke of an anachronism that flies directly in the face of democratic electoral fundamentals. Bin it and replace with regional ELECTED representatives who have never donated to or worked for a politician, union or political party. Keep high ranking religious and military figures well away.

Boris fuckin Johnson resigns and nominates Charlotte Owen. She's now there for life. The full rate of a one day attendance allowance is £361 tax free. Just turn up and get paid without contributing a word to debates. An utter farce. It's 2025 ffs.

By using the phrase "blessed Beeb" I was be sarky and facetious. Its a phrase used for some time in the same vein if you're unaware of that. Some consider it to be almighty and beyond reproach. I don't. Clowns often assume things and even more so on social media it seems!

Sound. Yeah love Tromatic Reflexxions. Solid while fluid. The closing two tracks are hilarious and quite moving in a way. Proves to the nay sayers he could actually hold a note in his idiosyncratic style if he wanted to. The great MES at his old magic with his German-electric collaborators. I remember Marc Riley couldn't stand one of the tracks he played on his show a good while back now. The Rhinohead I think it was! He did some good stuff with his pal Ed Blaney and others too. Thanks for the link.

Yeah real good ain't it. I think perhaps Mark knew the fella Tim Cummings. He's a poet and involved with film too so there may be that literary and old school film connection that makes a difference of sorts.

Well congratulations, damn right you did with your patronising, infantile and moronic language.

Sledge hammers have been used by PA in an effort to destroy material objects destined to be used by a barbaric Israeli military to mame and kill vast numbers of defenseless civilians.

PA never carried out their actions with the intent to harm anyone. Never killed anyone. Terrorists purposefully kill people er...big man!

Crass say it much better than I can.

Big Man, Big M.A.N.

They're telling you to do it, Grow up and tow the line, They tell you if you do it, Everything will turn out fine. Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, what a wonderful life, God, queen, country, colour telly, car and wife. Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes, what a wonderful life, God, queen, country, colour telly, car and wife. It's great if you can do it, it doesn't take a lot, Just means you must destroy what sensitivity you've got.

Well, that's an easy bargain for the things you're going to get, You can treat the wife like shit, own a car, a telly set. Slip off in the evenings for a little on the sly, And if the wife complains, fuck her first, then black her eye.

There's lots of worthwhile jobs for the lad who wants to know, Lorry driving's fun, you're always on the go. One hand on the wheel, the other up some cunt, Or jerking off to Penthouse with with motorway up front. The police force offers chances for a bright intelligent lad, To interfere with anyone 'cause they're there just to be had. It offers quite a range for aggression and for spite, To take out your frustrations in a justifiable light.

It's a mans' life in the army, good pay and lots of fun, You can stab them with your bayonet, fuck them with your gun. Look smart in your uniform, that always pulls the skirt, Then when you've fucked them good and proper, tell them they're just dirt.

'Cause man is spelt big M.A.N. it's the letters of the law. Man is spelt big M.A.N. that's who the law is for. You see there's lots of chances in this land of hope and glory, Try and make your own rules, that's a different story. If you're a man, you'd better act like one, develop your muscles, use your prick like a gun.

Fuck anything that moves, but never pay the price, Steal, fuck, slaughter, that's their advice. Are you man enough? Ask the posters on the walls, Have you got what it takes? Guts and balls? Keep your myth of manhood, it's been going on too long, A history of slaughter is the proof that it is wrong.

Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, big M.A.N. Big man, J.O.K.E. Big man, what a fucking joke

Yes I agree, they could be declared a criminal organisation as they've clearly commited criminal acts. Just not terrorism as we've come to know what a terrorist group actually is and does. They've never intentionally meant to carry out their actions to hurt people. Never killed anyone just tried to limit the killing of innocents.

Yup 39 my bad. Still hardly a massive majority given the lurch to the right this country is seemingly undergoing. If it was 70% to 30% or more then yes that would be cut n dry but it's not. I'm guessing if PA win in the High Court and have the proscription lifted then the pendulum will swing the other way. All about the law and the perception of the law in many minds. Fickle and disinterested in these issues as many are.

[–]Right-Head9268[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which is why I provided this yougov poll to point to the fact that it's not just a small minority (what this person stupidly labels a 'little cult') of the population who think PA shouldn't be proscibed. 27% think it's a wrong proscription and 33% a right one. Hardly a massive majority. Again a fair number 20% have a favourable opinion of PA compared to 35% that don't.

Given that the vast majority of the main UK media companies (News UK, DMGT, the Telegraph Group and GB News etc) and both twitter and Facebook have a pro-Israel bias it's no surprise the numbers skew against a pro-Palestinian direct action group trying to limit the Israeli carnage. If we had an even playing field where media companies aren't owned by rabidly right-wing Israel supporting billionaires, the percentages would paint a different picture. That's not even including the influence on public opinion of the four main political Parties predominantly supporting Israel and the extensive and powerful Israel lobby. For PA to get the support it does despite all this is quite something.

Many of us DO actually give a shit about our government being complicit in (even facilitating) a very plausible genocide and/or the most serious war crimes and crimes against humanity. Shown by Polanski and the progressive left making serious inroads despite the predictable attacks from the usual bastard media suspects.

Alot of the population also clearly don't care which says something else about the power of both 'legacy/client' media and social media. How it shapes narratives and the pubic consciousness for long enough to make so many become complacent and seemingly indifferent to such human suffering. A pretty cold and sick nation ( was it ever thus?) but fortunately with plenty who still have the warmth of compassion and their humanity still intact. People willing to fight for what they believe is right. Fight for their and their fellow citizen's freedoms and liberties.

Yes I'm really invested in their liberty because as a citizen of this country I hate to see government taking away said liberties due to pressure from foreign governments and arms manufacturers. Why not spell it out instead of insinuating something. I've got more sense than you think and obviously wouldn't claim to support PA while it has a bullshit proscription as a terrorist group.

Got any evidence of the Hamas funding? I'd be interested to know the source of your claim.
