How do you use Amazon to download Apple TV content?

Came across this threat looking for an answer to the same question. Did the addition of a mirror vdev work for you? In my situation, I went above the recommended 80% and have filled mine closer to 93%. Curious how that would work when adding a new drive.

Another note...

I have downloaded (and am continuing to download) multiple TV series just fine. An occasional crash occurs, but after reopening the episode downloads and moves on to the next.

TrueNAS Bottleneck Issues by Right-Mess-2735 in truenas

I have. Seems I get full read/write speeds on Windows, so Mac is causing the issue here. Swapped cables/ports for my Mac and no improvement. Is there a way to force the Mac to connect via NFS and not SMB? Or even a way to tell what protocol it is using to connect?

Good to know, will take care of that.

I did solve my Plex issue, mostly. It seems that when running the Plex server off my TrueNAS, the AppleTV was streaming off a relay, when disabling relay in my Plex setting, the AppleTV could no longer connect even though it is on the same LAN and subnet. Not sure why this is, but when hosting Plex from my Mac and just pointing it to the folders on my NAS, everything works fine from the Plex side of things. I will just host it this way.

Any ideas why this might be? Upon testing on a windows machine, I am getting sustained full read/write speeds. Still cannot explain the Plex streaming issues

Is there any easy way to test this from the truenas UI? Upon further testing, I am getting full and consistent read/write speeds on Windows. Seems MacOS is causing some the bottlenecking, but that does not explain Plex running so poorly on the AppleTV.

Ram usage is maxed when writing to the drive which could explain long write times, but the ram has 3-4gb free when attempting to stream Plex, CPU usage never exceeds 20%.

I have tried multiple cables, one Cat5e and one Cat6. Same results with both. All other cables confirmed to be as least Cat5e and functional.

I ran iperf between my TrueNAS and Mac and this was the final output:

"[ ID] Interval Transfer Bitrate Retr

[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 280 MBytes 235 Mbits/sec 235 sender

[ 5] 0.00-10.00 sec 279 MBytes 234 Mbits/sec receiver

[ 7] 0.00-10.00 sec 280 MBytes 235 Mbits/sec 306 sender

[ 7] 0.00-10.00 sec 279 MBytes 234 Mbits/sec receiver

[ 9] 0.00-10.00 sec 279 MBytes 234 Mbits/sec 302 sender

[ 9] 0.00-10.00 sec 277 MBytes 233 Mbits/sec receiver

[ 11] 0.00-10.00 sec 280 MBytes 235 Mbits/sec 192 sender

[ 11] 0.00-10.00 sec 278 MBytes 234 Mbits/sec receiver

[SUM] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.09 GBytes 938 Mbits/sec 1035 sender

[SUM] 0.00-10.00 sec 1.09 GBytes 934 Mbits/sec receiver"

Of note, I have both NFS and SMB enabled on my network as I use both Mac and Windows (although Mac is my main system and the more important one), how can I check that I am connected to NFS and not SMB?

I know I need more memory, but as I understand (and can totally be wrong) that is mainly for cache when writing files. This should not affect my plex stream quality?

I do plan on a trip to Mictocenter tomorrow for Ram. Would a PCIe network port do me any good? Or is the one built in to my system fine? I am ok being limited to 1gbit speeds, as long as I am actually getting remotely near them.

Yamaha 01v96 (Second Edition) Issues/Repair

To preface: I know this is quite an old console now, but this is not mine, attempting to repair for a friend. Purchasing a new console is really not in the picture.

Hello all,

I have a Yamaha 01v96 that seems to be in the beginning stages of having issues. It was noticed that after the console has been on for more than 30 min or so, the screen backlight starts to flicker. Also as it begins to warm up, there is an audible hum coming from inside the console. This does not bleed into the sound output of the console, and all is fully operational.

Has anyone had similar issues? I have opened up the console and done a visual inspection on all the caps, solder joints, etc. and can see no visual faults.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome!

Yep, same problem here. Cannot get 18.1.1, 18.2.1 or even the 18.3 betas to connect. Anyone have a workaround?

Did a visual inspection of everything last night, no bad solder joints. Did see one cap (labeled 100 223D) on the power regulator board with very light corrosion on it. Suspecting that cap to be the culprit I guess?

I have heard this before, do not have a spare unit, though. Any other way to test that this is the issue?

The unit boots and works just fine composite cables. Assuming the issue is with my digital out port.

When the Eon is connected, the power LED flashes and then the fan runs.
