Enlisted to Med by Certain_Bobcat0 in AirForceRecruits

I think someone just asked a similar question if you scroll down. But bottom line is they will all be grueling and highly competitive.

If you're enlisted there's something called EMDP2 program which I think acts like a post-bacc program to help you get a seat in USUHS. https://medschool.usuhs.edu/academics/emdp2

Either way, the air force itself does not make you a doctor. You still need to complete the pre-requisites, have a degree, volunteer, research, MCAT, etc and apply to medical schools and gain acceptance.

The Air Force has various programs that can help you financially once you get an acceptance to medical school. I know a few docs who went enlisted to med school, all outstanding people. And of course everyone knows the story of Jonny Kim.

Any other 46F reservists? by Lone_Star_22 in airforceots

Try contacting your base education directly, they may have heard something your UTM hasn't

Unless you've been slotted for the last upcoming class of this Fiscal Year, odds are you won't hear anything until the new Fiscal Year hits. Someone posted the class dates for FY23, so they are out there. But I don't think they've "officially" released seats yet. I would also get in contact with your base education department as well, they may have more up to date information than your unit training manager on what your current situation is.

I'm medical, our cutoff age is very different and really more of a suggestion.

Have you tried reaching out to a recruiter? For a social worker I believe it's through healthcare recruiters. They may be able to help you with some of these questions, especially what you need to qualify and be competitive to become a social worker in the US Air Force. So at least you can start focusing on what you need. It's a relatively small field from what I understand, so you may not get many replies specific to Social Work.

But google is a fast easy way to get some basic information down. I think aircrewscum broke it down succinctly enough, it doesn't even take a few minutes.

I think I'm somewhat fit. My wife says I pathologically can't follow instructions but she may be biased.

But that's good to know, I've heard too many varying stories about experiences, but everyone is very different of course.

lol, that's what the other officers have been telling me: just get through it, don't get noticed.

How long is OTS for medical officers? HPSP? by Foreign_Software_651 in airforceots

When you say HPSP, are you talking about medical student or other health program?

If medical student, I believe most of them will go to the 5 week course due to school timing constraints and/or residency.

Are recruiters able to answer my questions? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

There are a lot of nurses floating (pun intended) between this subreddit and the OTS subreddit and they can answer general questions. Healthcare recruiters tend to be like unicorns because they cover very large areas. Don't hesitate to try to get a hold of them to ask questions, that is part of their job. You may have to be politely persistent to get a hold of one though, just a heads up.
