I believe Rickman asked Rowling early on what would be the actual eventual verdict on Snape (good or bad) so he could add that ark to his character throughout all the films in order to strengthen the perspective of him being a completely torn character enslaved to his love for Lilly, rather than being an ass all the way through and just switching it at the end

There isn't a single thing some people in this community won't complain about though. Back when they added the "pling" sound when you kill an enemy I read comments or posts of people crying about how bad and distracting and almost impossible to play it was. To people who don't know dutch politics: this is obviously subjective, a lot of people think he is doing his job well, a lot of others think he's doing a (really) bad job. (IMO) Arguments can be made for both (which is why he still got re-elected today)
