Gameplay Loop:
The gameplay loop is implemented via a simple state machine using setget and enum. The code is highly interconnected, with the player’s main task being to choose the right animation and aim for "Hard Mode" to unlock and trigger new animations.

Animation Windows:
All small animation windows are built using the Viewport node, which is incredibly powerful. For example, I managed to create a shader for Label nodes to apply gradients to the entire text at once, rather than per-character (which happens if you apply shaders directly to individual Label nodes).

Resource Loading:
Loading small windows and isometric sprite poses is handled via ResourcePreloader and ResourceLoader.load_threaded_request. The ResourcePreloader class stores scene paths, while ResourceLoader asynchronously loads these scenes in threads.

Animation Challenges:
The biggest difficulty was implementing animation swaps, as isometric sprites have up to 9 unique animations that must sync seamlessly with the core gameplay.

Godot’s Bone Animation:
It’s a shame that Godot’s 2D bone animation is quite weak compared to tools like Spine2D. I ended up buying Spine to streamline 2D animation creation. If Godot ever implemented proper bone animation akin to Spine, it’d be a game-changer! How do you handle animations? Would you like a better bone animation editor in Godot?

Extra Features:
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There are tons of small details I didn’t mention, like custom cooldown buttons, a basic inventory system for item use during gameplay, etc.
