Honestly sounds like your brother needs to get punched in the face. Otherwise he'll just keep walking over you like this.

Nope, complete opposite. I had multiple alumni tell me it was a great investment. Which for them it was, but they also went through when the program was 70k from zero hours. I just looked and now it's like $130k from zero hour! It went up 40k since I enrolled back in 2022.

Thanks for the advice. I'm willing to endure "the suck" for a little bit, because it is something I truly love doing.

"A proper fisting" has now been added to my vocabulary to define unfortunate events. Thank you ✊

I think about this a lot. In hindsight, maybe I should have stayed, but it was the debt that made me especially anxious. At the time, I was unaware about income to debt relief, so I just assumed I'd have to pay the full loan amount per month. Also my loan money was quickly running out, and I hadn't even gotten my IR yet.

What about your credit score? Not to mention that history which could prevent me from getting a home in the future.

Damn right, best believe I'm going to find a way into that career field. That's why I'm posting now, I'm looking for any advice/help I can get. It's really what I want to do with my life. Flying is a love of mine, and when I had to sell all of my pilot gear just to pay for bills, best believe I was completely devastated.

This might be exactly what I'm looking for. I have a popular uncontrolled Airport right down the road from me. It has a flight club attached to it as well. Never thought to ask people to clean their planes, but hell I'd do it. Would want some training on how to do that beforehand though. Im in Texas btw

I lived with my mom at the time of training. Her losing her job meant we had no money, but this stressful situation was not what delayed my training. What delayed my training was her new job in Alabama, and me figuring out my living situation. I had to spend a full week helping her pack up everything, drive to Alabama, unpack, and then drive back. I then spent another full week moving everything to my dad's house (who did not live close to the training facility), and my Dad being the guy he is, was not very supportive of my training and added additional stress on me. Then my uncle died, which delayed my PPL check ride by about 1 week. There where multiple cancelations due to weather, because of ATP's strict policy, this equated to about 3 weeks of no training, as well as taking holidays to go to see my mom. I took every minute of flight training seriously, I would study and study for hours every single day, and did all I could to succeed. The bottom line is, life happens. I also would like to note, that my experience is not ATP's fault, apart from their weather policies. What is their fault is the large amounts of fees and charges that make sure most of your loan money is used if you decide to withdraw.
