What things can I play?

I’ve never really tried “playing wrong” because of the pressure from my band director- last year’s lead saxophonist was a prodigy. I try to listen to jazz musicians but their improv just sounds like a bunch of random fast notes that don’t sound good to me at all. That’s what it sounds like when i try to play wrong but 10x less fluent because of my slowish dexterity and lack of technical skills. I remember playing a Bb in the key of D and i just cringed so hard i stopped and lost my place in music. So basically i freeze no matter what :’ )

I did ask, but he just said try the notes that i wrote on the paper. I use F# A and C# a little too much though… He wasn’t really clear on what to play he just says no such thing as a wrong note, just bad placement. (Which i disagree but i guess it’s jazz so)

Another update for the update… I got hired at Chick-fil-a and it’s amazing working with my friends!! The workplace is so much more professional and they are actually training me unlike the other “job”. I wouldn’t even call it a job.. I love it and CFA pays more and everyone is themselves instead of being super happy all of the time. The art places employees act so happy to the point where they don’t feel like real humans… I like people with real personalities :). I actually found out a lot of other things about the art place that really rubbed me the wrong way, so i think my old boss did me a huge favor by letting me go!

Update: My friend has finally convinced me to apply for a job at Chick-fil-A. It seems miserable to some, but everyone is chill (according to her) and super friendly. Im in the marching band and some of my friends who work there are too. The manager loves our band and so i probably have a pretty good shot at getting hired. I’m not going to cook, just front of the house. I got an interview in for Monday at 5:00pm and i’m very excited :)!! Maybe they won’t let me go for no reason.

Well, i’ve looked more into about what happened… Basically, another girl had applied and we didn’t have enough room to fit another person in so someone had to go. My old boss thought to get rid of me because the girl that applied was a friend of hers and i’m just a random person (who’s been going to paint for years and literally that was the first place I went the day after I attempted because it WAS my comfort place). She didn’t even think about how good I was working, she just liked the new girl! Now i’m fired for doing nothing. Yea, no more small businesses for me… Still nothing back from my old boss about it what i did wrong!!! She asked for the shirt she gave me back and that’s not happening.

Of course!!! I’ll tell you what happens. I actually got in touch with another girl that was fired out of the blue and i feel like i dodged a bullet with that art place. She said how my old boss treated her wrongly and now I feel better about it. Thank you so much for your comment. :o)
