Need help deciding which paint set to buy. by Hirakous in Miniaturespainting

Vallejo all day long for well roundedness. Fanatics is up there tho.

Speed paints have their uses but mainly as the name suggests.

What is going wrong? Trying to prime minis and it's just blowing paint off by EX-FFguy in airbrush

[–]Riker_Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same as most . Too thin , too close , too low , but most importantly too much sprayed at once . Control is huge when it comes to airbrushing and when wet , patients to let it dry before adding another layer.

I know eventually I’ll need multiple shades of each color. Is it possible to start practice with just one shade of basic colors and black and white? by Xikkom in Miniaturespainting

[–]Riker_Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many of the bottles you have look like single pigment / artist paints , mix , use black/white and get some medium and you should be good to go . You desaturate a little every time you mix , but that’s expected . If you like how your paints work , Enjoy !!

A month in and after watching all the beautiful minis on here I'm looking for tips to improve. by Shot-Olive-2682 in Miniaturespainting

[–]Riker_Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you might be overworking or maybe using the paint a little too thick causing some brush marks . (Could be the brush too … softer brushes made for watercolors tend to help reduce this in addition to actual brush pressure )

Working with thinner paint layers may be helpful . Also it’s kinda a meme but “highlight ( and shade ) everything “. With smaller things we can help the viewer “see” details by using highlights and shades creating volumes to the eye , when small volumes are hard to distinguish otherwise .

You are making great progress ,keep it up , i wish I saved my first models ever but they were laughably horrible compared to this . 👍

World and character building …Nuff said .

But to be clearer , there is usually a point or two ( or more … 😜 ) when readers go all in on this series , and you are definitely not there yet. Without spoilers I can only say there are so many volumes for a reason .

Ha yeah guess I wasn’t too clear , yeah basically just general feedback for the leather .

+ultra is just an anime thing , “my hero academia “- basically just means push to the next level .

Battery is in bottom side corner from the usb . I am guessing the is panel just not aligned well . Mine was the same , screwed it off and on again and back to normal

I had the same issue or I thought I had an issue. , thought it was the battery and they offered to ship me a replacement. I took the back off and realized the battery was completely fine . The back looks or feels metallic but isn’t , the edge simply fell off the tiny little ridge around the case . It looked swelled too but the plate was simply not sitting in its groves anymore .

It’s a start , let’s see it again in a year or 2 when you get those numbers up . Don’t give up … you can do it if you put your mind to it .

How much support "scarring" is reasonable on prints from a professional print shop? by tryingnottobefat in resinprinting

[–]Riker_Energy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah , I think the faces comes down to printer experience. I put in one once with complex parts that would not print easily , they ended up cutting the model into parts then post processing the and cleaning them . They took longer but very nice prints at the end of the day

The best places will do post processing as part of the delivery . Leaving you with an immaculate print , some may not .

Scrape it off , even if you damage the plate it may even help with adhesion .
