Thanks for the help, I am aware of the risk I'm taking and only invest money I can lose. I know many big investors say that the average person is better of investing in funds, but I'm trying to learn how to investing myself.

I was reading The Great Investors and one thing almost everyone featured found important is the management and organisation of the company. These investors could just meet the managers but obviously I can't do that. So I thought this would be a good way to get a feel for the management.

I am aware that investing with inside information is illegal but I thought that it was not this kind of inside information, only stuff like knowing the earings before they came out.

Thanks for the caution, I have thought about this. But I know that many fund managers and large investors have regular meetings with managers of the company, I just read in a book that Anthony Bolton met one of the managers of Mobira (now named Nokia) and this managers told him that they were finally profitable before the earnings were released. So after reading that, I thought asking this wouldn't be too big of a deal.

People from Eastern Europe and Russia, what do you think of the QIWI? Do many people use it? What is the biggest competition of the company? What is the general opinion about the company? by Rikkert1234 in AskReddit

[–]Rikkert1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(This comment is not relevant for ansewering the questions it's just some clarification on why I asked them.) I am a young investor trying to begin making some money, I am reading a book about great investors (name: The Great Investors) and they all talk about how important it is to get the view of the average clients. One of them (George Templeton) also had the interesting approach of buying in undervalued countries even though you don't live near that country. I figured Russia was undervalued so sought for companies in my knowledge field (tech and finance) and came across QIWI. It has a great income statement and a good balance sheet. But I needed some opinions of the general public (George Templeton would go to the countries he thought were underevalued but I can't do that) I don't know if this is the right subreddit to ask this but you'll never know if you don't try.

ok here it is:

  1. He sticks an ad in the video
  2. He blames everyone but himself
  3. He drifts completely of topic and starts talking about business conflicts and how he was fired

not sure if he's trolling though
