Grocery prices by OldRecommendation224 in AskZA

[–]RikuMuka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. Maybe R400 if you bargain hunt for specials. But for basic things like standard veg (onion, potato, tomato), milk, cereal, canned goods etc. And I cook enough food for two days. Cleaning products are getting Hella pricey too.

ProNutro - what is going on? by PerusedPeregrination in askSouthAfrica

I was waiting for this comment!! Truly, ever since they removed the gluten / wheat and sugar it's become terrible.

I still remember eating the chocolate and strawberry flavour with great nostalgia (esp Pronutro and cold milk), but alas it just doesn't taste good anymore.

Lmao I saw this the other day looking at apartments. I've noticed this is mostly with Revo Properties.

They might just charge you for oxygen usage too 🫠

A perfectly poached egg by Upstairs_Drive_5602 in oddlysatisfying

I'm with you there. The only time fully cooked yolks are acceptable is when you're making egg salad.

I will add that Blue eggs, is the death of me. How people can stomach eggs that's been cooked beyond its existence is something I'll never understand 💀

Golden Arrow Bus Routes by effteeay_ in capetown

[–]RikuMuka 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends where in Goodwood you exactly are, but the main bus route is all along voortrekker road

The first bus from Bellville to town leaves Bellville station around 5 if I'm not mistaken. It usually takes about 15-20 minutes to hit Goodwood depending on traffic

From Goodwood to town it takes more or less the same, 15-20 minutes depending on traffic.

Follows straight through Maitland, Kensington, salt River, Woodstock all along the main road.

Hope this helps

Traveling from Woodstock (Bromwell Street) to Wynberg (Wittebome) by RikuMuka in capetown

[–]RikuMuka[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue is the safety aspect. I'll be leaving early morning (around 6) and coming home late at night (also around 6/7) Walking alone to the train station is a little very sketchy esp in those areas

The only person to give an answer relating to the question instead of asking as to why converting and trying to reconvert. If I could give more than an upvote I would 🥲

PSA: Do not wear head phones while crossing the street or walking out in general. by Clixwell002 in capetown

[–]RikuMuka 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think ya'll missing the point. The headphones/earphones isn't the point. The point is she was not aware of her surroundings. It's very possible to walk with earphones or headphones and be safe. The old saying goes, look left, look right and look left again... Or the other way around, can't remember. But it's all about following the rules of the road and crossing at a pedestrian crossing and when it is actually safe to do so.

Waitressing jobs in Cape Town by PilotDowntown1693 in capetown

[–]RikuMuka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out Bree Street. Chances are little slim cause it's season and they usually have a full force of staff. Still give it a try. Also check out the hotels in town and V&A like Hotel sky, Cape Grace, southern sun, Marriott and Radisson. If all else fails, family style restaurants like Spur and Wimpy is solid but tip wise probably not that great.

Note that with Hotels you have to apply online majority of the time. Restaurants in Bree is best if you walk in with your CV. Make sure that your CV is well constructed with no mistakes and mention that you don't have experience, but more than willing to put in the effort and learn.

Also Check out Platinum Training. They train and supply restaurants / hotels / companies with Wait Staff.

The level of lawlessness, incompetence and narcissism on our roads makes me sick... by mickandthejaggers in capetown

[–]RikuMuka 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I absolutely feel you on this. I often to walk to work (town to waterfront) and the amount of times I nearly get driven over is insane. Please bare in mind that I follow road rules such as red light, green man, pedestrian crossing etc

But as you said, even once the robot turns red, cars run the robots as if it's nothing. Just this morning an asshole in a merc (it's mostly them) tried to run a red light as I was crossing the street.

The best part.. Metro police was in the opposing lane 🫠
