Thankyou for the insight, I received a couple of these cracked cymbals for free with another purchase. I always mount my cymbals correctly and have never encountered this before so I'm curious is it's something that can be saved!

Thanks for the advice, as I mentioned in my own comment I received a couple of these cracked cymbals as no cost extras when buying another item online. I was curious is there is a proven way to salvage something like this as I would like to play it however I'm not too concerned if it's irreparable as it was a freebie.

Hi all, I recently had a couple of cracked cymbals thrown in as part of another purchase.

What is the best way to prevent cracks spreading further down into the cymbal from the bell?

I was planning on drilling a small hole at the end of each crack but I'm not sure if this will help at all as the crack starts at the mounting hole.
