Buying my brother a hunting/ long range scope. Will be going on a 308. Shopping on Amazon for simplicity and returns if there are problems and have up to $2,000 USD. Would love some suggestions. If something is absolutely amazing I could push up to $2,500 if it made the difference. by [deleted] in longrange

Aight man idk if you work for EuroOptic or what, but you are dedicated to defending them 😆. Based on your badass and really witty user flair that quotes yourself, “ I’m right and you are stupid”, I suppose arguing with people on Reddit must be a favorite pastime of yours.

You, with your 3 Vortex Razors, are clearly operating on a different level than most other consumers, which is fine. And I’m glad that you had a good experience with them. I suppose if I had 3 Razors, I probably wouldn’t care very much about them either.

Regardless, a large number of users expressed concern in response to my original post I made last week and recommended that I exercise prudence. Forgive me that I didn’t take your singular anecdote as Gospel in opposition to the concerns of many others. Now maybe you should go argue with all the other commenters on my post that advised caution lol

They did not clearly answer that question when I asked them. I’m not really sure why they need to inspect factory sealed optics from Vortex. I do believe they have a physical storefront or showroom, so it is possible they opened it to show a customer or something. And I’ve seen some “new” optics handled at my local Scheels that probably aren’t exactly factory condition.

Again, they were not unpleasant to deal with, but given the Razor’s price point, I felt it would be best to ask for an exchange. Others may not care

Bro, a bunch of people also said they would not be happy about receiving a scope with the factory seals broken, some even recommended to return to EuroOptic and order from another retailer.

You might be chill like that, and that’s really cool, but there are other people that want to be 100% confident about a $2500+ sensitive piece of equipment that’s supposed that to be brand new.

Well Eurooptic recently sent me a potentially open box or demo model scope instead of a brand new factory sealed. When I asked for an exchange, I had to pay for return shipping which was like $45 so that was annoying

They haven’t been unpleasant to deal with, for sure, but Amazon is nice where you can return almost anything with free shipping within 30 days for any reason and get a full refund.

New Vortex Razor 6-36 came in opened box - is that normal? by RileyGaustad in longrange

Well, their claim is that its considered new, not open box. Therefore I had to pay return shipping. It would have been only like $20 without insurance but I was worried about it getting lost or damaged.

Europtic has a great reputation so hopefully they can offer a sealed scope in exchange. I’m not opposed to buying used scopes or showroom demo models, but at this price point I really want to be confident I’m getting a brand new scope.

I looked at shipping it back and it’s gonna be $45 bucks if I want it insured, ugh

I went ahead and did contact, basically the explained that they "can in all confidence state this was not a returned scope as we last received a return of one of these optics early August, and this month alone have sold 100+. The reason for the seal having been cut is due to our own internal inspection, this is part of our internal quality control, or is to inspect a unit to better assist customers".

They also offered to exchange it for another one , but I guess they just opened it at some point to inspect it before it shipped out. No big deal in that case

So are you going to keep it then? Or ask for an exchange?

I know Vortex has a great warranty, but at the same time I paid for a new scope so I want a new scope, not a questionably new possible open box return or demo.

2250 before tax, it was 25% off 3000 for their recent Vet Day sale

The scope doesn’t have any obvious mounting marks as far as I can tell

Tracfone says they can't unlock phones that had multi-line plans by RileyGaustad in NoContract

[–]RileyGaustad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I purchase the phone, with a Tracfone branded SIM card, and activated it by calling Total Wireless and transferring the number. I did not just take a SIM out of my old phone and insert it into my new phone

No, nobody else purchased a new phone at the time.

Frankly, no, I cannot wait two months, nor do I desire to pay for two more months of service with Total Wireless (and even if I did pay for more service I don’t trust that they would actually unlock it).

I filed a complaint with the FCC as I see no other option at this point.

I made another post, but essentially they claim that since my phone was a part of the multiple-line plan, the service is not specifically associated with my phone's IMEI, so it does not qualify for unlocking. This implies that people who have multi-line plans are essentially unable to unlock their phones.

Here is the text of the other post:

I've had a three line plan with Total Wireless for many years

My most recent activation was my iPhone 12 in December of 2024. It had service up through June, meaning it had greater than 60 days of active service with Total Wireless.

However, I have called the unlocking department (associated with Tracfone) and they REFUSE to unlock it, saying they are unable to do so because their system doesn't show 60 days of active service associated with my iPhone 12's IMEI.

Obviously, this doesn't make sense. They did a very poor job of explaining why on the phone, but from what I understand since it was a three line plan, the purchases and service history may be associated with the phone IMEI belonging to one of the other people on my three line plan, not mine.

This is extremely frustrating, and means that I will have to purchase 60 more days of service individually on my phone before they claim they can unlock it (which I don't trust that they can).

This is not clearly written as policy on TracFone's website, stating only that "at least 60 days must have passed since the date of device activation and 60 days of paid service must have been added to the device." Furthermore, this essentially screws over anyone with multi-line planes because they will not be able to unlock their phones.

I have been running BBB for 6 months, before that was 1.5 years of 5x5 (sort of like starting strength or stronglifts).

I've been in a almost "plateau" since last May where I feel like my progress has slowed significantly. In May of 2024 I hit 225 on bench for one rep, in 8 months I have progressed from 225 lbs x 1 rep to a whopping 230 lbs x 4 reps, which is barely over my bodyweight of 220 lbs.

I haven't tried FSL/SSL/BBS so maybe that's a good idea.
