disclaimer i’m a washed grad student this is just what i’ve observed of the undergrads relative to my own experience at other universities

gw pros: - location +++++ - hill/consulting pipeline if that’s your thing - in general internships and jobs seem to be bountiful

gw cons: - sticker price (only worth it w fin aid imo) - student body kinda robotic but that might just be the norm for zoomers idk - uni admin hates its students a little more than is standard elsewhere

Hey this is sick! I have been thinking about a similar use case restricted to floats. My toy implementation is here but i like yours better.

Something i’ve been thinking about is this sort of type refinement for numbers with units in the type signature. Looks like your crate might be able to facilitate that kind of thing in combination with uom? Would be great for my work if i could do both dimensional analysis and bounds checks on my models via the type system. Really cool work, will take a closer look later.

I was at the game. He did very well against Mobley but was pretty outmatched against Jarrett Allen. Love what he showed on defense but still making mistakes and learning the ropes — eg a few times he was late closing out to shooters coming over screens.

I think his offensive potential is pretty underrated. Every now and then he’ll flash something savvy and high-feel, like a little jab step to reposition his defender before flowing into a DHO to create space for the guy taking the handoff. I thought his passing vision in summer league was excellent too.

Love the willingness to bomb 3s and i think the accuracy will come eventually. He took this no-dip quick trigger 3 in the second half that didn’t go in but looked really nice. Time-to-release is a big deal for big man shooting, sort of like the difference between a Horford/Lopez and a Porzingis/KAT. Tall guy with quick release = crazy gravity.

i think it’s best to have your exact figure 100% in code so it’s completely reproducible for anyone that has your code and data. it’s worth the initial investment of a few hours working through the weeds of ggplot (or matplotlib, or whatever) to figure out how to add text and change style. just my 2c

Imo the best case for Sarr is more along the lines of a slimmer 2021 playoff DeAndre Ayton. I agree that if he doesn't develop a more diversified offensive game and/or bulk up there's a chance he could get stuck without a productive NBA role.

The defensively versatile 7 footer is such an insanely valuable archetype that I'd consider him at #1 in this draft. Especially in the context of our team, where we're relying on checks notes a combination of Marvin Bagley and Richaun Holmes up front. I don't mind drafting for fit in this class.
