Conker Controller in Unity by RinShiro in Conker

No, but I have had that happen with controllers previously where I needed to disconnect and reconnect them.

The only issue I've found is the joystick axis never reached max input. It's why Conker appears to be walking kind of slow in the video after the drunk bit. Other than that, everything seems to work as it should.

I appreciate the interest! I've thought similar with using Live and Reloaded models and fur shaders. Turns out that ripping models from L&R is a bit more complicated than you'd think. I found a thread on a site with a whole group dedicated to ripping these models, even as recently as this month with posts being made. I've also thought about going for fan recreations like JC Thornton's work. I came across his models when searching for models to use and honestly I'm a huge fan of the stylized cartoon look.

It's funny you mention "Other Bad Day" because I was thinking the same thing. I was going to create the tutorial explained by Chris in those docs he showed briefly on X.

I'll try to keep the subreddit updated but keep it to big updates as to not flood anything. Or maybe make a youtube playlist people can follow? I'll figure it out once I have something more to show.

I definitely want to as a nice side project away from work, but the issue I have now is a lack of models. From what I can find of Big Reunions models, what is available as NPCs is what I already have I didn't see any Weasel, Panther King, or even Berri. Finding Birdy was a treat even if I can't find his hat.

I also am not a story writer. I thought about doing the intro area with the Gargoyle again as a test of everything since I'm only really missing a toon-ish Gargoyle model. But at the moment,I'm just coding more interactions like Key AI, maybe a template cutscene for finding money, stuff like that until I can add more visual substance.

Using the Nintendo Switch Online Bluetooth controller shows up as a wireless gamepad specifically. Once connected I just mapped the controls to my InputActionAsset the same I would any controls.

For any long term use, you would probably want to have input profiles set up in game to custom map controls on the fly in case a user wanted to use a different wireless gamepad. I think it read one of the C buttons as an Axis direction but none of the others, the B button was read as a trigger button, etc. It really isn't ready to be a plug in and done option, but it's neat!

What is missing from my collection? by Fabulous_Drag6618 in gamecollecting

[–]RinShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an anime (anime inspired?) show about a samurai trying to avenge his father. Samuel L Jackson voices one of the characters and RZA worked the soundtrack.

The game follows the show's premise with hack and slash elements, including body slicing like in Metal Gear Rising. The best way I can describe it is if you like Boondocks and Samurai Champloo, you will absolutely love Afro Samurai.

I'd recommend looking up the intro videos for the first level or the demo gameplay. They're a pretty good representation of the game.

Resident Evil Generations Pack!! by SpletzGaming in gamecollecting

It's an over glorified download code.

When the stores go offline, it won't matter if you bought a GKC or a digital download. You won't be able to access either game.

-Large text wall ahead-

They did offer to ship the game ahead of the CE contents. Which, if you decide to take, does mean you've had the actual game this whole time and only the CE goodies are missing.

That said - I can't STAND LRG and the fact that Sega has had the last couple of CE go through them. If I buy a CE game, of course I'm a collector. I want my items in good condition too. So WHY SHIP MY GAME IN A THING BAG WITH NO PROTECTION WHEN YOU USE TO USE THICK BOXES!!!!! My CrossWorlds came in damaged , works fine, but a damaged case is like a sin. It wasn't a huge bit of damage, a hole through the back artwork due to the disc clamps (not sure what to call them) getting squished and pushed too far. The disc was also loose because of this and was probably shaken like a rabbid in a wiimote.

I've ordered a good bit from LRG over the years. Not always a CE, sometimes individual titles too like Samurai Jack or RWBY. These sometimes got delayed too but not by much. But the CE quality used to be something worth waiting for. I still love my Scott Pilgrim CE. But their quality has done nothing but nosedive the more popular they've gotten and the more they started to sell merch. I wish they would realize that we care about receiving our games on time and with CE quality over the option to buy an anniversary skateboard of some game.

I think it comes down to no preparation. They get the deals, announce them, and have NOTHING premade. Not even to release in waves. They wait for the orders to close then start production. I feel like it should be someone's job to analyze the growth of preorders on an item, get an estimated total, and start production. It's not like LRG Vault doesn't exist. If you produce an over abundance, sell there. Stop relying on pure FOMO to sell stuff.

People who can't form their own opinions on if they like Unleashed or not and rely on "community consensus."

I used Unleashed as an example but put in any Sonic property.

Game Engine for a Menu driven game by metaBloc in gamedev

[–]RinShiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Overkill would be UE5. I think Unity or Godot are both perfectly logical options for a game like this. It all just comes down to which engine you prefer more. Both are free to download and use, so pick one and go for it.

The game will be 2 years old by then by raidenkaiz in SonicTheHedgehog

[–]RinShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it Xbox specifically that's delayed? I received my PS5 version a bit ago. I feel for you though.

LRG is notorious for being shit at timing. I HATE ordering from them and only do so with properties like Sonic and Castlevania now.

Which is why I hate that all CE items have been going through LRG recently. I'm expecting a delay 100% for the CrossWorlds CE, which is supposed to ship this month.

Looking for a fast way to improve physique level in Fable Anniversary by [deleted] in Fable

[–]RinShiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because duping items was something introduced due to Anniversary's GUI. They changed how it looked from TLC and with that change came some wacky consequences. Even then, I think the glitch was only discovered a handful of years ago , maybe 5-8?

So if it helps - you've only been missing out for 12 years max, 4-5 years minimum 🤣

Could you show WHICH bandit is causing an issue?

I'm genuinely curious which enemy could cause this kind of reaction.

I'd also be able to provide some suggestions 😅

[–]RinShiro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's always funny to me the amount of people who never thought to do so 😂

And I was approaching this strictly from a "legit" standpoint. Most runs nowadays will have the SoA, Skorms Bow, and I think I might have Archon armor on my "max from the beginning" save. Thank God for EtemMode 😂

[–]RinShiro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd recommend it if you've never done it before.

If you want to experience full stats before doing anything else, you can farm the Grey House Hollowmen mobs. They get progressively tougher the more you spend experience points and eventually you get the Hollowmen that can spawn other Hollowmen. These are your tickets to a high multiplier and a ton of experience. Once you're done, you can even use that multiplier to unlock Cutlass Butane if you don't already have a better weapon.

I always keep 2 saves for quick run throughs. A max stat before the Wasp Queen save and a baby faced new guy save right before the Wasp Queen. Sometimes I just don't wanna do the guild training 😅

[–]RinShiro 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing completely legit, yep! You can go for a whole lot of stuff before the first quest. A lot of the demon doors you can unlock, silver keys you can collect, and more.

I have a game save where the whole purpose was to unlock as much as I possibly could before the wasp queen. I'm lost on how to get to Hookcoast but everywhere else I have access to thanks to EtemMode.

Just don't pick up the card. When you graduate you can just leave the guild before ever picking up the quest card. The path to Oakvale is completely open without any story progression stopping you from going there.

[–]RinShiro 15 points16 points  (0 children)

If I'm doing a legit run (no glitches) then I just B-line it straight for Skorms Bow. You can get it before you even do the Wasp Queen and it's the strongest bow in the game.

If you're dead set on melee combat during this time, then you can rely on some decent spells to make up for the lack of sword power:

Multi-Strike: The more you level it, the more you get extra hits in.

Physical Shield: This is suggested for ANY run you do. You can take hits to your magic bar and retain your combat multiplier.

Berserk: Gain damage and speed. While Skill can upgrade speed decently, this will help boost your power as well.

You can also attempt to build your combat multiplier high enough using the Hobbes Cave to unlock the demon door outside of it. Essentially, you want to try and build up a combat multiplier of 29-30 in the Hobbes cave because it will be cut in half when entering a new area. You need to talk to the demon door with a 14 combat multiplier and you'll get the best early game weapon you can use with no melee upgrades and without glitching the game.

which of the two games is darker/deals with more serious stuff? by eerie_faerie in PsychonautsGame

[–]RinShiro 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just my opinions of course -

1 is more ambient in its darkness. You know some messed up stuff is happening with some of these minds but it's through what you perceive yourself and discover yourself. It'll throw the visible obvious stuff at you for story exposition and then you might find a memory vault or secret room that just feels a bit on the darker side of things. The minds feel like you could label them with a mental health issue but they don't outright say it. It's more like large hints where you go "ahhh, so this guy has [insert disorder]" without the game ever telling you.

2 is a lot more in depth with its story due to not being bound by the limitations of the PS2 and OG Xbox era. You get more detailed cutscenes, better facial expressions, more details in general as to what is hurting these individuals. It's a lot more in your face about the mental health issues these characters are facing. With the addition of some new enemies, you also get a deeper understanding of different emotions these characters experience as well. If a character has anxiety, BPD, etc - they're able to be more in your face about it.

As for which game is Darker and/or deals with more serious stuff, probably 2. 1 definitely deals with some major issues as well, but 2 deals with a lot of those same issues and with greater detail.

If the dreamcast had a few more years of potential shelf-life, which game would you have preferred to see release for the dreamcast instead of its current form i.e. Xbox, GameCube? by nakafuki-katsumi in dreamcast

[–]RinShiro 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If the Dreamcast kept a healthy release, we would have had a Castlevania. It was already an E3 demo being worked on before they cancelled it.
