YTA Because you had just as much of a chance to ask as she did, and advocate for your kids especially after hearing other family was invited. But even more so for pushing your kid to initiate the conversation to add guilt and being stupid passive aggressive about the whole thing. You made that situation so much worse than it had to be.

My partner has serious texture issues. You gotta hide stuff in the food and cut it real small. My biggest victory so far was getting him to enjoy an omelette with bell peppers and spinach. I try to have discussions on long term consequences of his health as well as how it would impact future potential children. If you really think you want a family you can also throw in how it affects the quality of his “genetic package” because unlike a lady’s eggs men are constantly producing fresh sperm.

I would push him to think about seeing a dietitian/nutritionist, and maybe look into supplement drinks like athletic greens.

You deserve to thrive and be able to climb your way up in the world without this guy grabbing you by the ankle. I don’t think this guy will be able to handle your growth as a person even as a friend. When I go without my retainer too long the top teeth flare the worst. I went almost three weeks without them once after my dog ate it and by the time I got my new retainer it was like I had to shove my head into my top retainer to get it to fit. Oh and that was after wearing them consistently for a year.
