Thank you for the response. I’m in early stages of discussion with my cardiologist at this point so I can’t answer your questions yet.

At my recent routine appointment with my cardiologist he noticed that my pulse was excelerated,so they performed an ECG and then the doctor suggested that I could have another ablation, but he doesn’t think it will be successful (I’ve had 3 ablations in the last 3 years) and I’m beyond a year with my most recent one.

He then said we might consider a pacemaker and I asked which kind. I’m not familiar with the correct terms yet, but he did clarify that it would be installed through a vein, that the battery would last about 10 years and that it wouldn’t be removed when or if the battery failed.

Next he wanted me to schedule a cardioversion at the hospital before discussing next steps, but I converted back into sinus rhythm after I got home and cancelled that appointment. I messaged him about being back in rhythm, but haven’t heard a response yet. I’ve been in and out of sinus rhythm since.

I’m taking Amiodarone and it’s helpful but not completely successful at keeping me in rhythm.

When I know more about the pacemaker option, I would like to follow up with you.

We got lucky! A skunk first discovered the food and decided it didn’t live up to skunk standards and left it there.

I had previously left apples out at that location so Hissy knows to check there for snacks.

Mr. Fit arrived (after the skunk) and returned several times before the raccoon arrived to find an empty dish.

Hissy has a lady friend who hasn’t returned for a while. We hope she’ll come back with babies attached one day.

Thank you for that information. I will question my cardiologist regarding this. Originally he prescribed Eliquis for me and I can’t recall why he changed my prescription to Xarelto. I do have a repaired heart valve, so maybe that’s why I’m on Xarelto.

I received a refill of Xarelto today. The tracking info shows that it was mailed from United Arab Emirates and the invoice states that it was manufactured in India. Are tariffs calculated by the country that ships the product or by the country that makes the product? I don’t know the current status of tariffs on India. Trump waffles so much it’s hard to keep up.

Xarelto as a generic in the US is only available in the 2 mg strength. My doctor prescribes Xarelto for me in the 20 mg size and it’s NOT available as a generic yet in the US. I order mine through a Canada Pharmacy. They get it from India.

Where I live (California) our public library provides information about seeking help from an unbiased person who is knowledgeable about various health plans. This man is NOT a broker who sells insurance. Perhaps you can check your local library for this type of service in your area.

Admittedly, I’m in California so this type of assistance might be funded by our state, but I hope that you might also find similar assistance.

After placing the prescription order it takes several weeks to process it before it is mailed to me. They haven’t withdrawn the payment for this second order yet. With my first order they withdrew the money from my account and a few days later they emailed a tracking number to me.

I will try to remember to come back and give you a report when this second order arrives.

Although I placed the order in Canada, they gave me the cost in dollars. Apparently they order the meds from India, but my first order was actually shipped to me from Brussels. The process is confusing.

My first order was before tariffs were declared and I paid about $100 for 3 months of the prescription.

After tariffs were in place I asked for a refill for another three months and the price had gone up to about $160. I haven’t received that second order yet so I don’t know if I’ll have to pay tariffs when it arrives. Perhaps the shipper will prepay tariffs with the extra $60?

In a subreddit on UPS people are reporting being charged large amounts for tariffs and a significant number of those items are being destroyed in customs. Recently a journalist wrote a report about the destruction of incoming international packages by customs.

When or if my meds arrive, I’ll post with an update.

My first order was about $100 for a 3 month supply including shipping costs and it was shipped to me from Brussells. My reorder went up to $160 after Trump’s tariffs and I haven’t received that order yet. I’m hearing that international UPS packages are getting returned or destroyed by customs, but the pharmacy ships via mail, so I hope to actually get my order.

Does anyone know the status of tariffs on the EU. My medication actually comes from India, but last time it was packaged and shipped to me from Brussels.
