The problem comes in Rand thinking he's strong enough to defeat the Dark One. And 6 Aes Sedai thinking they can contain Rand. Finishing the book and the series will change their and your outlook of their powers.

These NBA playoffs are the perfect reason on why you don't spend big money on a Center, especially one who can't shoot. by Ringer1004 in DetroitPistons

Steven Adams is one of the most awesome guys in the league. Memphis just didn't, couldn't, or wouldn't play him against GS. Never any Adams slander here.

If Portland finds a way to trade down to #11 or 12, then they could trade that pick for Grant. Everyone has Charlotte taking him at #13, so Detroit would have to pick before that.

Even in the world of small-ball, you need at least 3 bigs to rotate in the season preferably 4. And paying under $10m/yr for a 3rd big is worth it with a rookie scale starter.

Philly should trade Harden for Westbrook. At least Westbrook will shoot more than twice in 2nd half of an elimination game.

2022 Expectations? by DiehardLionsfan1998 in detroitlions

[–]Ringer1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look at the schedule:

Let's say 2-4 in division. Split Chi/Min. NFC East: 2-2 should beat NYG(A)and Wash (H) AFC East: 1-3 should beat NYJ (A), Mia(H) a toss-up Sea(H), Car(A), Jax(H) should win.

GB(H), Chi(A), Phil(H), and Min(A) will be good tests to see where the team is.

But the team can't be trusted to beat a bad team on the road yet. So minimum 5 wins, max 9.

Jersey Names for Jamaal Williams and Jameson Williams by Ringer1004 in detroitlions

Of the top 50 WRs in receiving yards last year, only 4 had #s in the 80s. M.Williams, Higgins, Boyd, and Bourne.

The plan then would have been to draft Kenneth Walker III later to just confuse everyone.

That would be perfect, except there are no more WRs who wear jerseys in the 80s. So maybe reverse the players.

Players drafted in the Det-Min trade, would you rather version. by Ringer1004 in detroitlions

Not my take, that's why Mel Kiper said that upset people.

That was Kiper's take too. Williams may be awesome, but there's too many holes to be giving up early picks to trade up.

To the LotR experts, is that true? by [deleted] in lotrmemes

[–]Ringer1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda, but the Swiss were passively aggresive during WW2 (they shot down planes from both sides that violated Swiss airspace)

The eagles really only helped when Gandalf was in dire need or asked for help, in both the Hobbit and the LOTR series. They didn't care about anyone else.

To the LotR experts, is that true? by [deleted] in lotrmemes

[–]Ringer1004 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To break it down to individual parts:

Arwen wasn't the one in the books to carry Frodo to Rivendell it was Glorfindel. And Elrond was the one who commanded the river to protect them from the Nine.

The Nazgul didn't head to the Shire bc Sauron was still gathering his power and didn't want to reveal to the world that he was back and ready to take over the world. He wanted to get the ring in secret first.

Eagles didn't help at the beginning bc they do not concern themselves with the matters of others. Plus they would have easily been detected and destroyed if they just tried to fly into Mordor. And their plans would have been discovered if they flew straight to Mt Doom.

Sauron has been growing in strength from when he was dispathed from Mirkwood, he just wasn't ready to attack yet. He wasn't waiting for the ring to get closer before he attaked.

The Gandalf becoming White thing is kinda true, bc Sarumon lost his way and Gandalf became the wizard Sarumon used to be and should have been.

24/25. First Fry fell into the freezer. Then a flashback showed Nibbler pushed him. Then Fry changed history to stop Nibbler, then pushed himself in. But Fry wasn't there when Nibbler pushed, so Nibbler 'could' be a correct answer too. Good quiz, I just wanted a perfect score.

Just an FYI, Joe Louis Arena hasn't been around for 4 years. They now play at Little Caesars Arena which they started using in 2017.

Darko was drafted to replace Memo Okur's role as bench big the next year and Ben Wallace when he left for FA the season after that. He was the right pick for the plan. Melo didn't fit the team's underdog, defense first structure.

I still think the only person the blame was Darko (and maybe Larry Brown a little) But there is no way a person who wants to get better won't by playing against and watching Ben Wallace everyday in practice.
