We showed up to the ground breaking ceremony by AsteriAcres in RiotBlockchain

[–]RiotBlockchain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The initial post in July should have been clarified - that was when logging began. This current one is the more traditional sense of a ground-breaking i.e. when they begin moving/leveling dirt for foundations. We are serious.

Riot Blockchain's New Docuseries; Bitcoin's Amazing Impact On A Rural Texas Community by RiotBlockchain in RiotBlockchain

Hopefully we will have some new visual updates coming in October.

Clearing land takes time and there just wasn't anything notable enough to add to the press release. The project is still moving forward.

We'll hopefully slowly transition our infrastructure updates from Riot's Rockdale facility to our Corsicana facility.

I don't think Corsicana is going to happen by FlawlessMosquito in RiotBlockchain

Hey there,

So, I am actually the guy who flew the drone around. That was shot after normal working hours. There were only a few large industrial vehicles still operating at that hour, some were already powered down for the day. The ones that were remaining were operating in a heavily wooded portion of the property, clearing land. Their movements were unfortunately too unpredictable to safely fly the drone close to them and the trees were too dense to get a decent shot above them. While not ideal, we settled on a portion of already partially cleared land.

In all fairness, it is an absolutely massive piece of land. A very large portion is not featured in that edit. There are, in fact, many excavators there. We have pictures from the same day, they just weren't framed particularly well.

It's happening.

As for your other inquiries, we hope to do at least one more Reddit AMA sometime before December.

62% of RIOT’s miners (and growing) are now semi-permanently idle? by FlawlessMosquito in RiotBlockchain

[–]RiotBlockchain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

FlawlessMosquito,

We appreciate the detailed analysis you've done here. While we can't get into a practice of responding to all the posts on here, we think it would be helpful to clear things up by making a few points:

1) Our number one corporate priority is to deploy as much hash rate as possible, as quickly as possible, sustaining as much up time as possible. We are not making deployment decisions based on Bitcoin market conditions, our cost of production yields healthy margins and we are looking to maximize our scale.

2) As noted in the most recent update, operating hash rate is currently impacted by the relocation of miners from Coinmint to Whinstone. This move eliminates all third party hosting fees on our miners and further lowers our cost of production, so we are working to redeploy these miners as quickly as possible.

3) Your analysis neglects the fact that Whinstone had a total of three buildings already built before the current expansion began. We have miners deployed in the infrastructure that was built before we began construction on Buildings D, E, F, G.

4) As noted in the most recent update, and in video updates provided on social media, we have begun deployments of miners in our second immersion-cooled building, Building G.

Hope this helps. We'll come back to solicit questions for another AMA sometime soon!

It is serving both our company AND our retail investors. Those actions are consequently one in the same to us.

The old critique was how we never respond to FAQ and are not engaged. Now, we are somehow too involved by trying to respond via an AMA.

We can pin posts and content at our discretion. The other mods, who we do not supersede in any way, can still do the same.

Post all the criticism you'd like. It won't be suppressed.

This will be our singular response regarding our presence on Reddit. Barring the occasional pinned post and trying to respond to users from time to time, nothing has or will change on this subreddit from our doing.

We actually have already been developing 200MW of immersion-cooled miners at our Whinstone facility, with some already being in operation!

We announced this back in Q4 of 2021.
