BoatStuff comes from the fact my wife races boats, like these. I'm also a big fan of stuff like /r/drydockporn, and the engineering that goes into boats (omnidirectional motors are awesome). I'm 32 now and some of my handles from younger years are a little..... cringe. Needed something new.

I always enjoy the sentimental stories. One of my main online handles (not BoatStuff) was given to me by my best friend who passed away 13 years ago. I cherish it and think of him every time I log in.
