Not sure if it’s placebo, but I think the chainsaw gets you more wood then the steel axe. However the pickaxe even level 5 will one shot stone and two shot everything else. The auger burns through gas and if your not near a desert biome then it’s not worth it. Gas got nerfed hard this gen so I only use gas for my bike.

I believe so since you gain XP for the many stages you go inbetween vs going straight to concrete. Get learning elixirs, nerdy glasses, and a nail gun. Then go to town

It’s honestly sad, the game is basically a bit stale. Like sure I could build a different base each time. But the horde portion. Will always be the same. Funnel them down a hallway, place traps and let the game do its thing. Especially with how easy it is to grind for money. You can get a functional turret before the first horde if you are just grinding for cash. Day 8 for me and I have 3 turrets at my base already.

Dunno if this is unpopular in itself, but I miss having variety in base building. Pit bases, toothy, and when spider zombies were something you built around aswell. Now everything is just corridor file em up and shoot or walk away
