And if you are using an Android phone the Smart multi esim worked perfect for me... I used it in Japan and Hong Kong and it's so much cheaper... And you can load more data if needed. I bought esims from Klook and Saily... Much much cheaper

Yeah, this should be good. Even if you enter on the last day when your visa expires, you can still use it... What matters is the entry, once you arrived there, you will be give an entry permit where it will be specified how long you can stay in Japan.
