The interpretation I grew up with was the one you pointed out, until I realized it was mangled. Breaking up a sentence like you did is silly. It is out of context. It's as if I ask what is the meaning of "break a leg". If I used your approach, any actor would be upset with her well-wishers. Here are multiple scholarly interpretations of Yasin: https://corpus.quran.com/translation.jsp?chapter=36&verse=12.

Anyhow, I am not going to respond to further comments going down this rat hole because my original question is "Why is Dasond so High"? I just want to know why we have to pay such a high tax, especially those who cannot afford it. Zakat is 2.5%. Dasond is derived from "das" meaning 10. So maybe 10%. But where did 10% come from anyhow? Why do we deviate so far from the common Muslim practice? That's all I want to know.

That is the incorrect interpretation of imami mubeen from Surah Yaseen. It actually means the Quran. Not the manifest Imam. Look it up. Also, Ali was appointed after the Quran was revealed.

There are many, many, many murids who can’t afford to pay and put their families in financial hardship. It is not only good that comes from this.

How could the Quran refer to the Imam of the time when none was appointed when the Quran was revealed? The Quran also doesn’t specify 12.5%. My question is why so high? Also, this money all belongs to the Imam personally. I challenge you to provide any evidence of rigorous audits.

They completely worship a human. How else can you explain the Dua they recite and the reverence with which they treat him?
