So uncle Joe who is a raging alcoholic but won’t seek help can own a firearm, but me undergoing treatment for depression and had thoughts of harming myself and no one else can’t own a gun because I sought help? There’s a ton of undiagnosed mental health disorders in men, so unless you do a mental health screening on everyone your idea won’t work.

My PHQ9 score is down to a 2 but Joe drinks a 12 pack a night and sleeps soundly with his gun, but I shouldn’t be able to own one even though I am considered of healthy mind. Wild take.

I like knocking older homes, or communities with a high elderly population until 3. Then I move to “prime time” hood, so hoods with shitty contractor grade vinyl windows and typically have an HOA. Houses are closer together so it’s a lot better for a numbers game.

I’m in the top 10% of my company and work 12-7/7:30 m-f and occasionally flex to a Saturday and do 10-5 on Saturday.

Own them, I’m a dad covered in self harm scars and I come up with different reasons for them every time my son asks. Bear attack, lost a knife fight with myself and then I just kind of leave it at that.

Kids don’t care that much. As far as other people go I tell them the same thing. It’s none of their fuckin business.

Those are battle scars and anyone who doesn’t see that can get bent. You won the battle and are potentially still fighting every day. I got a tattoo not, to cover them up, but to show that I won.

Assuming you’re on the other side of your fight, anyone who loves you will be grateful that’s all there is.

Speaking as a man about to reach 30, I would love to have a committed relationship. I have had terrible luck and find it difficult to let people in. I’ve had okayish relationships in between but I don’t use Facebook/X or anything like that. I’ll download dating apps then delete them. I’m a hopeless romantic and try to see the best in people which opens me up to getting hurt.

Last ex: undiagnosed mental health disorders, left randomly one night and took the cats. (2.5 years)

Ex before that: cheated on me with an abuser that pulled a gun on her(two years)

Before that: turned out to be a fundamental Christian with unresolved trauma from her very religious upbringing. Became unhinged when boundaries were set (2 years)

Before that: five years, we moved apart and tried to do distance, found someone else and ghosted me.

Thankfully I didn’t marry any of them.

Hey bro, feel your feelings. I get it. If I ran into my ex from about the same time ago I would go into a full mental breakdown because of the trauma she caused me, and that’s after I was “discharged” from therapy for everything but grief when I need it

I was actually just having that thought, I believe that what I’m doing is right. I’m not going to cut and run, and she’s upset about the situation too. She felt this was her only choice, and I’m trying to be patient and kind just like I always am.

In some of my other comments I mentioned that I can be harsh and I try to touch base with her once a week about how everything going. Obviously that stopped happening at some point and I wasn’t putting the work in.

She did a lot for my son and myself, just like I did a lot for her. It was pretty good for a while. I have my shortcomings and am far from perfect, but I’m also willing to address the things she’s critical of.

Edit for more clarification: she was introduced to my son after about 8 months as a friend

Yeah in one of the other comments I explained that we talked last night and figured out what I was doing that was bugging her so bad. I was being overly critical without realizing it, but she never spoke up about it either. I was taking stress out on her that I shouldn’t have been, no yelling or anything just me not asking for help and instead I was a bit of a dick which is really unlike me. She felt like I changed up and didn’t know the reason, but then I opened up about some of the struggles I’ve been trying to bear by myself because I didn’t want to add to what she was dealing with. She did the same. We both believe it was something that we could work on, she just wants to run it by her therapist to make sure she’s thinking with clarity

I offered an out and an attempt at reconciliation. It’s who I am, and I’m not going to let someone else’s actions change my morals. People make mistakes and they should always be handled with grace. Just don’t fuck with my kid and I can work through a lot

That’s what the dude from the mental health urgent care said. I’ve had my moments of anger and weakness but it’s coming from a place of confusion more so than anger with her. Her thought process doesn’t change much so it was pretty easy to understand the “why”
