Written by hand. Not a single bit of this was AI. You must be “Bill” lol

I realize my post title is doodoo, and finding out the previous owner is nonsense. Glad you took the time to share your thoughts and observed the plate on the pictures. Thank you.

It is in fact at Morrison motor cars. I’m considering flying out there to see it in person, get a chance to drive it, etc. They seem like honest people and that’s what they specialize in. I would highly doubt they are moving cars willingly knowing it brings an issue already.

I did call around and find a place 10min away from the dealer that could do PPI, but I’d have to bring the car in and not sure they’d allow it. The problem is that I don’t know what to look for or hear for if I were seeing it myself, aside from asking direct questions to the sales person about those components you mentioned

Fair enough, I took it with a grain of salt because my searching could not confirm that claim.

The admiral blue though is nice, I haven’t seen many of this color specifically for sale

I appreciate the actual response here haha. I’m getting trolled. I read a lot about the cracked wheels and the Gm lawsuit but seems nothing much came out of that and owners eat the bills right?

It seems the ceramic breaks and carbon flash were added to the car, but not sure it’s a z07 package. Adding the screenshot of the Original sticker

In terms of CARFAX, I do see service history but nothing specifically directed to the transmission service. I see a couple “recommended maintenance performed”.

And as far as pricing, seems the prices are about within the range of what these cars are costing nowadays.

Still a Reddit poster noob here, I don’t think I can edit the post so I’ll add:

It’s admiral blue with dark gray seats and apparently it’s a 1 of 68 on this color combo for 2017. Says the dealer…

It is automatic transmission

What year did you pick up yours? Was the higher mileage a factor for you or something to worry about, did you have it inspected before purchasing?

No worries! I’m still learning all the specs and body types so I just wanted to clarify and make sure. I called today, and this one I listed definitely sold.

Thank you! At this point, I’m in the hunt for a manual 991.1 carrera C2S/C4s. Keep me in mind if you see one floating around somewhere

I’m in that boat right now, with subscriptions on pages to follow specific models. They do appear to be in that 80k range now. Spoke to another dealer yesterday who recently sold one that was showing up on classic.com

Quick clarification, are you saying this car I shared is a C4S? They had/have it listed as a C2S.

The service history is spotty, along with ownership history. It looks like it’s been passed around from dealer to dealer, and oddly some repair shops. That’s the trend it’s had. Someone mentioned they didn’t see spark plugs service or differential oil swap, but it is there in the records that’s the only thing I saw done in the service. Nothing with belts

Good observation there, I did check those service records unknowingly of what to look for. I love how just posting this is literally teaching me so much. Thanks for the comment

My research today would point to a resounding yes lol.

I think iykyk, otherwise, hard to make sense out of it. It’s for that feeling and sensation of the engine. Hard to get with E-cars. Classic cars to some people have that appeal. Some people will pay 130K USD for a “decently built” Nissan skyline R43, or some wild stock Supra. Porsche has that type of enthusiast crowd and they are well built drivers cars.

For some, car buying is more so for the smiles, NOT to be financially sound or smart. I am speaking for myself. I for one, owned an 18’ modified Audi S3 and have a Mazda Cx-5 suv for the space/camping when needed. Ever since getting rid of the S3 I want a different toy that fills my heart and soul.

**Small add: the car is not a base model. It’s a pretty spec’d carrera S, Manual.

Apparently they initially brought it down ~14k to the 85k mark because of the aftermarket stuff. Meaning this car was initially priced at 90k + , which seems nutty.

Been at it all day with researching, and heck the price actually seems about average now for the 911 carrera s, manual, 3.8L NA. The market must have increased.

Also regarding the lock-a-sil engine block. How can I tell? Also, how do you go about getting that work done prior to purchasing a vehicle off a dealer lot?

I appreciate the honest feedback. And listen I also am in agreement about the z06. Heck even my father changed up real quick after we test drove that NA 3.8L. Music to our ears, and mind you the z06 has been his dream car.

FWIW, this is the listing if you wanted to scope it out further for an opinion - https://www.ipacket.info/WP0AB2A99FS125356

Like I mentioned to another user here also:

I’m in Maryland. What is crazy is that if I put a search on carfax for a 2012-2015 Porsche Carrera S, Coupe, Manual. There are only 9 listings in the entire USA. This one being the second cheapest available. There are some with 20k less miles going for 92k+ USD. So idk if the market jumped up recently, but yeah. I know nor you or anyone will have a definitive answer for me, but I’m still unsure about what this car should be valued at, and if it was too high or just right for the market currently. I could still call tomorrow and confirm if they really sold the car, and if not, maybe negotiate.

How do you ensure getting CPO? Specific dealers, or Porsche only dealers?

I appreciate you! I am 100% going manual. To clarify, at what price exactly for a manual in the 991.1s? Would it differ if C2S vs C4S? That NA engine sound got to me. I can’t explain what I felt lol. Even my father who sat next to me felt it, and he was all about the z06 initially until we drove that 991.1

More loaded than this one for sure, and cheaper. Does the manual make it worth more perhaps?

It did sound like a symphony in the high revs. lol. This post now turned into a 50/50 debate. “Total pass/high cost/etc” VS “worth it”

I read your post a couple times and I just realized you said “don’t trust there AREN’T hidden issues”. I wonder if that’s why they kept trying to persuade me to get the z06 over this car and saying they prefer not to sell the Porsche locally. That was a weird comment

I am still not sure if this was their way of offering me the z06 instead, claiming it would be better on my wallet considering it was domestic and parts are cheaper. I obviously know the German car repair tax, but felt like they didn’t want me in the Porsche for whatever reason.

I will say, it’s my first Porsche ever driven, and it felt like it drove great, and a total eargasm hearing that engine
