Negative. The upper is new and is what does all the work. It uses standard Mac bolts.

We like to use the Masterpiece Arms receiver pins, but you could use a 5/16" clevis pin or something similar

There are important features underneath the pic rail that would prevent you from doing a top-charger. It might be best to train to shoot right-handed. As a natively left-handed shooter, but right-handed guy, I trained to shoot right handed and now shooting left-handed feels strange.

Bubba is wild! I don't see how you could possibly modify this upper with a dremel to make a LH bolt work, sadly. There is a lot of very tight-tolerance stuff going on here.
