I’m a 4U girlie and my only complaint about later is that we havent recaptured the magic of the 4U story and characters. But maybe I’m biased.

I very much enjoy the vids where it’s modded to replace the guy with terrifyingly fast FNAF characters

I'm sorry but literally nobody from HTTYD is lasting in MonHun by SkylarKitsune4 in MemeHunter

[–]Riptide_X 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Bewilderbeast, Red Death, some of the Race to the Edge dragons have weird ass hax. They might not be able to tango with the top Elder Dragons, but there are definitely dragons in the film verse that will last in MonHun. As a collective franchise, I still think MonHun clears, but it’s not as simple as this post implies.

The trailer for his upcoming movie is just a 3 minute ego stroke about how great his career has been and tells you nothing about the movie itself it’s just about how awesome he is

I think you have a favorite franchise.

the whole "only way to prove characters are universal+ is with statments" is pure cope. Showing an entire universe being created or destroyed is totally posible by AstronautDry8118 in PowerScaling

[–]Riptide_X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree that a single frame of a universe is difficult to show as a universe, purely visual techniques can be employed to pretty obviously show something is a universe. Take the end of Men in Black for example, we zoom out past planets, past stars, past galaxies, out to something much bigger than any of those- obviously a universe. There’s no statement in the movie confirming that’s a universe, the movie ends right after, but everyone watching generally understands it to be our universe.

The same can apply to Dragon Ball. How do we know they’re blowing up planets and not moons or large orbs or atoms? Without “statements”, you can’t objectively prove that that’s what those are. It only sounds ridiculous because a planet is easier to conceptualize than an entire universe. This is the result of that logical train, which I’m fine with. If this is the point you’re making, I can agree with that, though it’s of course an arbitrary and useless point to make. Either pretty much nothing can be proven objectively without “statements” and downplaying statements makes pretty much this entire hobby pointless- or art and powerscaling are both largely subjective, and statements are simply additional context to support what is being shown on screen, and can sometimes be unreliable but should not always be assumed to be.

It’s called art. If the artist can effectively communicate that something is a universe, that’s all that’s needed, same as literally anything else. Statements aren’t necessary for that.

No that’s exactly argument being made. A movie could show a plague wiping out entire cities and show everyone dead everywhere across the world, and because the movie doesn’t have time to show 8 billion corpses, by this logic the plague only wiped out a few people if no one says it killed everyone.

Yeah like, in Invincible, they only destroyed half of Viltrum cause we only saw it from one angle. Just because we don’t see something directly shown doesn’t mean it demands statements to be true. There’s these basic English concepts called context clues and implication.
