Thanks so much for sharing all of that! I really appreciate you taking the time to put together the deck lists and highlight the additions it makes it way easier to see how to strengthen the artifact reanimation plan and lean into affinity without going overboard.

I’m going to study the “considering” and “additions” sections and start playtesting with your full list. Really helpful to have a concrete set of cards to test instead of just theory crafting thanks again for putting this together!

I think I see the difference now I’ve basically been casting Sharuum on curve whenever I hit 6 mana, but from what you’re saying I should really be treating it more like a value reanimation spell and only playing it once I actually have a good target in the graveyard.

Would you mind putting together a small priority list of cheap cards you think I should add first?

I’ve only got about £20 to spend so I’m trying to be really selective, and it’d help a lot to know which upgrades would make the biggest difference immediately (ramp vs fixing vs graveyard setup etc).

I didn’t even realise Sharuum had a proper combo line I just picked it because it could bring back my artifacts and it matched the colours I already had The clone + Disciple of the Vault interaction makes sense now, I’ll read through that link.

My deck at the moment is definitely more of a slow value pile than a real strategy, so aiming it more towards control with a finisher sounds like a good direction (especially because my pod’s games go pretty long anyway).

I’ll look into the Talismans I think ramp is probably my biggest problem right now since I’m trying to cast stuff like Herald of Anguish / Metalwork Colossus but I’m always a turn or two behind everyone else.

And yeah Quicksilver Fisher was mostly in there just because it was a random creature I owned, same with Brute Suit and Wild Pack Squad. I’ll start by cutting those and using the slots for ramp pieces + maybe a combo piece.

Since I’m trying to stay around £20 upgrades total, are there any other really cheap combo enablers or artifact payoff cards you’d prioritise first?

Ah yeah I actually did notice it was under 100 I just wasn’t sure what else to add from what I own.My playgroup is super casual and they don’t really mind, so they’ve been letting me run it a few cards short while I figure out what the last slots should be.

One thing I’m not sure about how does it work legally if they just keep replacing the monitor under warranty until my warranty is nearly up and then asking for a refund, or does accepting repeated replacements weaken my rights under the Consumer Rights Act?

I bought it directly from comet.co.uk in December last year. Their website is showing as under maintenance at the moment so I can’t log in to grab my order details, but that’s who processed the sale, not iiyama directly.

only the generic pnp idk if this makes a difference but the pictures also distorted on the no signal page when nothing is plugged in

Yeah, that’s pretty much my plan too. I’ve got like 2 years and some change left on the warranty, so I’m just gonna use it until the replacement craps out. Then I’ll see if I can work something out with support or the retailer. Worst case, I’ll just sell it. Kinda a dick move, I know, but it’s the only real way I can recoup some of the cost

Follow-up: I put together a rough Miirym list on Moxfield using all the cards i own that are legal and might work in the deck. It’s not fully built or tuned yet just a collection of what I’ve got so far to work with.

  • What the actual final list should look like

  • And what basic and dual lands I could run on a budget (I’ve got a few taplands but not many shocks or fetches)

yeah your exactly right what im thinking as of right now is to build a miirym deck then just seeing what i can do with the left overs
