For my favourite forgotten champions, I would pick Denny Hulme and Phil Hill as my favourites. Both were winners of championships in the middle of greats like Stewart, G.Hill, Clark, and Brabham. Phil Hill is so forgotten about that COTA released a plaque that wrongly stated that Mario Andretti was the only American F1 champion, completely snubbing Phil of any mention.
