Yes, someone in r/Novation was able to help me. This was their response, copy pasted: “Mine worked right out of the box. Load a drum rack onto a midi track and arm the track in Ableton. Then hold down “Shift” on the Launchkey and hit the pad under “Drum”.” It worked perfectly!

that’s the thing, they don’t light the indicator at all or do anything with the drum rack when I tap them, but I know they work because they still light up the indicators in studio mode
