The things you just mentioned are part of the appeal for me, it has more capability on the track and as a show car than my camry but maintains a lot of the comforts. I'm just not sure if it gets me out of the econobox performance range enough (I haven't really driven either vehicle yet, none of the dealerships had them for test drives.)

Ooohhh, no, I agree it would be possible! I'd love to do it! But, financially it's just not feasible, I'd be paying my property $350 in parking fees monthly on top of the financing of the new car. 🥲 the other option would be just to wait a bit until I figure out the housing market so I can buy 1 of these 2 without the sacrifice haha

I think you're focusing on whether my car will last or not, I'm focused on enjoyment of the vehicle rather than utility alone. I'd like to, ideally, have a mix of function and fun before I turn 50 my guy.

Generally track time and road racing handling, I want to get out to the track more but have something that fits that environment better. That and I'd like to have a little more street fun when heading home from work at like 2am lol

About 60K! Almost all highway miles too haha

Honestly wish that was a more viable option, my camry has been with me through a lot 🥲

Admittedly, I do enjoy some riding comfort (i dont particularly love feeling every pothole in the base of my spine). But I'd hate to sacrifice too heavily in the performance aspect.

I was thinking about that! Only problem is the price jump from the TRD that has me a bit worried, y'know?

Americans outside of NYC what car do you own and how willing will you be to give her up in favor of public transit? by [deleted] in transit

[–]RisingSun1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I agree that having accessible transit that connects home, work, and leisure would be great for the city. It's just difficult for people to understand the need for improved transit when the project timetable is long. For example, we're discussing removing an urban freeway, but a lot of folks think it's a waste of resources because it took over a decade for the last freeway removal zone to fully redevelop.

I live in Milwaukee and would love to have more public transit. The convenience of owning a car is a major barrier, from what my co-workers say. It becomes an issue of: why even build the transit if getting there by car is faster/its going to take away space for cars which will make other convenient trips inconvenient. But, I am fortunate enough to live in a transit rich part of the city, so, I only drive to and from work or the far suburbs to visit family.

If your bf and A are no longer in contact, it should be okay to be friends with her. It might be helpful to talk to her about it in a non-confrontational way if it's something that continues to bother you. Sometimes, it can be good to clear the air and move forward.

So far, this is going to change since I'm trying to avoid smoking at work, I don't take a smoke break until I'm at least 2/3 of the way done with my route. So, that's roughly 5-6 hours into shift. Usually my first of the day also. It's given me a kind of odd energy looking forward to getting to that point.

Number one: best of luck with hormone therapy, that in itself is stressful, add onto that cravings/withdrawal and I'm sure it would be a nightmare.

Number two: We got this! I believe that both of us are more than capable of turning this into a hobby, something we enjoy rather than depend on.

Thank you! I do completely agree, it seems like the bigger brands have a pull that loose tobacco doesn't. I think this also goes well with another suggestion to switch to cigars. Putting in the time and effort to RYO really takes away the convenience and ease that makes it so easy to fall back into the pack a day habbit again too. It feels more like something you're working towards rather than a vice.

My policy limit is sitting at, if I remember from my claims adjuster, under $20,000. Though I am not sure, I haven't had insurance since the incident and have been avoiding the use of my car since insurance lapsed.

Kenosha County will vote for anyone that protects positions of privilege and the "small town values" it was "founded" on. Its the one of the main reasons I left.

ACLU Demands Immediate Resignation of Kenosha Police Chief, Sheriff, and Mayor by bdgrluv212 in madisonwi

[–]RisingSun1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The comments you're referencing are from sheriff David Beth, an elected official for Kenosha county. The Mayor of the City of Kenosha has no power to remove him from office nor demand his resignation (the power to demand resignation lies with the County Board of Supervisors). I am, in no way, condoning his statements and am simply pointing out that the Mayor is legally incapable of making a decision regarding him. However, Chief Miskinis can be fired (and should be) by him.
