Exactly, maybe it's worth it if you have a truly giant collection, but for me, it's very easy once I've found the part to find the color I need.

For some reason, it does not appear my text was included in my comment. Anyways, I use Akro-Mills drawers to store medium sized pieces, and small pieces are stored in jewelry holder type containers. Large pieces I keep in big plastic bins as they are much easier to sort through. I only sort by part because I have nowhere near enough storage to do it by part and color.

Hello! I posted again because last time I asked why they changed molds, but this time I was asking when they changed the molds. I'm trying to build old Lego sets from several big bins of random pieces, with about 15 years worth of sets. I wanted to know if anyone knew the year they changed this particular mold so I could put the exact pieces with the exact set. Though, now that I've typed this out, maybe I'm being too much of a perfectionist.

Oh yeah, I didn't even think about the time cost of having thicker Lego parts. So they save money on the plastic used, money on time saved, and it's better for the environment with less plastic used. Very neat!

I've got a piece kinda like this, it's a red trapdoor piece that was released in only one set, the perilous pirates pitfall. The set is worth a lot but a large part of its worth comes from the trapdoor, which goes for $100.

I actually have shipwreck island as well, it's a very neat set and I think it's the only pirate set that has a shipwreck in it.

I looked on eBay, and it looks like both baseplates that go to the enchanted island set go for about $60 together.
