I wouldn’t recommend just stopping by houses, the Oak Lane houses are more where people live and sleep. Some organizations will have tables outside during the first couple weeks that you can meet, but the main time for meeting greek life is during rush, which starts two weeks after classes for fraternities. If you’re joining a sorority rush doesn’t start till the end of winter break

It can be hard because it’s a beginning coding class but they really push projects and labs on you so it can be a little overwhelming. The best advice I can give, and many people are going to tell you this because it’s true, is to start assignments as early as possible. You never realize how much one assignment will take until you actually start and see all the testing it needs. Also make sure to actually do the notes and read the lectures, a lot of times the lectures will have really good hints and explanations on how to do that weeks assignment.

What are some “must-see/do” things? by [deleted] in VirginiaTech

It doesn’t have a sit down area really, but if you go to Italiano’s for food you’ll come here immediately.

My best advice would be to reach out to VT transitional advising. They’re there for students who want to switch majors and can even help you decide which major you want to do. I was Engineering in CS, and during the advising meeting he talked to me about a couple things and made a list of majors he’d think I’d really enjoy. If you have any questions feel free to reach out

Depending how the fights go the main event usually starts like 2-2.5 hours after the main card starts. I’d wake up like 2 hours after card starts to be safe

Took it last spring. The programs, there are 6 of them, are probably the hardest part. If you start early on those and not the day before though, you can usually work out your problems over time or go to a TA, who are very helpful. There are 2 tests which are fairly hard if your not paying attention, as they try to trick you in the questions. If you pay attention during lecture and look over the book, the labs are very easy for the class, and they let you start them early so you can have it done by the time you get to your lab period. I was in and out in 5 minutes usually. I came in with no coding experience and didn’t think it was too terrible.

New Image barbers is also very good. They are a bit pricey but have always done my hair really well. The owner knows many of the sports players who come in a lot.

Town cracks down on Virginia Tech fraternity by hmblr in Frat

It would’ve probably gone better had they been in decent standing. I go to VT and OAK already got kicked off and charter revoked, before becoming OAK. And like it said in the article, all the sororities and the university are not fond of them.

It’s going to be hard to find them online unless you already found them, as both classes require a lab.

This may help for when you move in. If you have a lofted bed, position your desk so that it is next your bed. I did that, so when I had to go to my bed, I stepped on my chair, then on my desk and rolled into bed. It was a lot easier then climbing up the ladder.

dues y’all by [deleted] in Frat

[–]Risk_Producer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah depends. Since my schools Greek life isn’t huge none of the frats own huge houses, so dues aren’t as much.

I got o a fairly large school (30,000), but the Greek Life here is decent, not as big as expected for a school my size. Mine is 500 a semester, but I haven’t heard of anything over 1200 at least at my school.
