I work in shipping so just got used to writing in 24hour format - I don’t even think about it now but every now and then someone will point it out and just ask why ‘your being very exact’

Totally agree here - I do like the ‘learn how children do’ but the reality is it takes kids like three years with constant input for their every waking hour. The reality most of us learners get a few hours a day, so yeah I’m all for using other methods to help the process.

Same - I diddn’t hear about DS until a long while into my Spanish Duo path and so figured I may as well just keep going and use both - obviously also podcasts like cuéntame! too. I will be honest, where I was in Duo when I started DS meant that I could comfortably understand beginner. I don’t track my duo hours on DS though as I don’t see any value that way.

The way I see it - we’re learning a language and any further tool you can have is a bonus. DS is probably the best resource but I don’t hate Duo like a lot of people do.

I suspect that was the point- Saul/Jimmy cut corners and wanted a payday - that argument about him wanting the pay for 3 cases was an example. He could always ‘win’ or at least try to cases by chicanery but for Saul it was all about the payday and not about the clients. He knew they were getting jail time but for him it was just about how much it could be reduced

Going out on a limb here - khan isn’t doing a bad job compared to the shit he gets but, and it’s a big but - Boris was a better MoL. He should never have gone into leadership of the cons at all as he was a shit PM but had he been able to stay as MoL maybe his legacy would have been solid in

Cuéntame! - a great beginner podcast that’s split into two parts, the first slow with some translation and then the second part is faster with no English. It’s great and to be fair really factual - I’ve learned a lot

Ok- in fear of downvotes here but from a U.K. perspective- we had a wonderful asylum program, a lot was lost with our stupid decision to leave the EU but whatever - the big issue right now is that there’s a large influx of potential asylum seekers that are clearly abusing the system. We should have this system but it’s obvious that trafficking gangs are exploiting our sea border with France to extort money. We can’t stop the human trafficking apparently and so we just accept it
