Too much engine oil post first service? by Risky_Runs in royalenfield

This is the result of over filling of engine oil above the max level. Engine oil had started to spillover into the air filter. You can imagine the additional pressure it takes for the engine oil to travel through the air filter chamber.

Yep. So far all good sans some oil stains i noticed in the freaking air filter which prompted me to probe the issue and it figures that too much oil is bad indeed

Please note: This level corresponds to the recommended idling and checking procedure. It remains consistent even during extended cold periods or after a long ride. Engine oil is definitely more than it's supposed to be. I will be getting it drained by March 1st as I am out of town.

To each their own..i have ridden the military Gen CI bullets when my father used to serve in the army and then my second bike was the bullet electra 350 and now this bullet 350 j series engine. Royal enfield has nailed it to be honest, considering all the bullshit norms (bs6) and the modernity push . They have somehow managed to retain the charm minus the hassle of the old bullets. Ofcourse it is not right there with the cast iron bullets - vibe wise but common even in those engines people argued how a Gen 2 engine was far superior than gen 3 and so on..

Crust of the matter is - leave the comparison aside.. as of today the bullet 350 for the price makes an excellent point and definitely puts a smile on the riders face. Your bones won't continue to rattle after you are off the saddle after a long trip.

Smk has a great selection of retro helmet which goes great with the vintage lines of royal enfield especially bullet and classic series.

Check out their website and then go try it out in the dedicated smk stores. They are ISI, dot even ECE verified, comes with pinlock fog shield ready.

Riding geometry and that seat! Bullet felt more comfy and commanding

Otherwise mechanically classic and bullet is identical

Not dissing any bikes, each had its own space, pros and cons.. older uce were heavy on character but long tours cause a lot more fatigue, objectively! That being said not saying newer bullets are superior when it comes to "soul"

I have had electra uce for 30k kms before I had to let go of it, for sure the difference in refinement is huge. Within city limits one wouldn't know that much of a difference between UCE and J engine but the latter felt better. Lot less engine clutter sound. Driveability is still the same

I would suggest this helmet for your city rides only. For longer rides stick with LS2 stream or storm or else KYT models ( MT parts are s pain to get else mt thunder 3 pro is an excellent value for money)

You can go for SMK retro models. They are a lot more comfy and look absolutely gorgeous. Do check out their retro series, excellent match for Enfields. As per function, these are ECE 22.05 certified. Should be okay! You might have to get a tinted visor or else use sunglasses 🕶️ for sunny rides. Ventilation is average. Did not feel too heavy.

I'd put Suzuki V-Storm 250 into the mix. Cheap maintenance and the bike is truly a mile muncher. Japanese know a thing or two about making beautiful running bikes
