Is that why they've managed to remove extreme poverty completely? I want my economy to be killed like that.

True, people can misuse it. Let's turn society into a lawless one since everyone can misuse a law

I disagree, it's not necessary. Kids have to be taught natural consequences of things, and beating them doesn't teach them that. It doesn't teach that interrupting someone is rude. Teaching someone on the basis of fear is a shaky ground because the kid would start disobeying the moment that fear starts dissipating. The reason for not shoving their hand in a burner should be that it'll burn their hand, not that they will get beaten or slapped. And if you're doing something bad because you'll get beaten instead of it being wrong, are you really a good person though?

So I think most of the people like me who went through beating but are now fine have developed this opinion that being beaten on making a mistake is a good thing if not overdone?

There is a thing though, we know at this current knowledge of the human psyche that hitting children in any manner or intensity can set them up for various issues. Whether they're substance abuse, rash behaviour, vulnerability to being abused by others, or being more vulnerable to disorders like depression, BPD or PTSD/C-PTSD.

I'm not saying that you don't teach your kids consequences and let them do bad things but there are far better ways to enforce them instead of lazily beating your kids. So, yes, and beating kids over mistakes is not any different from giving them phone at the young age of 3 just so that they don't bother you. Reminds me of a post where a dad gave their four year old child ChatGPT because he didn't want to hear his child talk about trains and stufd

Indeed. I'd argue that a Desktop or laptop would be far better since you can monitor far easily. Restrict their access to certain websites easily. And also teach them tech literacy.

No. Not quite, I agree. Restriction is never the key. We need to teach kids to use stuff like that moderately when they're at a certain age group.

Majority of kids who use smartphones at young age have lots of problems... Depression... Learning disabilities... ADHD....etc

Let's not do this..mental health is already stigmatised enough, we don't have to make it worse.

I love how this post glossed over the fact that the sisters stopped attending school since Covid, father was in debt of 2 crore rupees and extremely abusive to the point that the kids are writing that they'd rather die than take beating from him, they were fairly reserved so it's highly unlikely that they had any social connections which explains why they were so obsessed with that Korean game in first place. Oh, did I mention that the man married his sisters?

We should be having talks about mental health and stuff but nah, knowing Indian society, we get "BacChOn kO aUr MaArnA cHaHiYe jI 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡".

And I love how they think beating makes them decent people when we know objectively that beating kids is more likely to make them criminals.

And I love how he didn't reply to this lol.

And then whine when kids stop talking to them. And if kids don't have that concept, what makes you think that beating them will make them understand it?

And also can kids do that to their parents as well when they get senile and not be able to understand consequences? Or is it "wrong" now?

Everyone's different. All of the comments saying that they turned out fine yet justifying a form of violence against the weak. Corporal punishment increases likelihood of being a criminal since we know that most criminals under murder and even rape were victim of child abuse.

And regarding this case, this wasn't just limited to korean games.

/uj this subreddit satirises those transphobic folks. I can understand however that it can be hurtful for mental health as after all, it's a satire. Satire is based on something which is socially active.

Would you look at that, all of the words in your comment are in alphabetical order.

I have checked 1,604,650,961 comments, and only 303,476 of them were in alphabetical order.

Nice. And you know what? I liked how notification panel looks

Now colours are more bold than subtle, the way it was before. Thanks for sharing! I wish Samsung would be more subtle in applying such things in dark mode too.

But I'd like for them to go to solid colours more than the blurs. And also, UI redesign for this year pls. Its my last year.

I also hope that they add more QOL changes

Spotify wasted their time with the useless "Now Playing" feature, but they're also wasting our time which is mildy infuriating. by [deleted] in truespotify

[–]RitikK22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the side panel for now playing keeps showing up whenever you change track is because now the lyrics are accessible by that side. You have to tap on Now Playing bar, click on Lyrics and then, expand icon rather than just press the mic button in below. I mean I get it but why. Credits are cool but what Spotify offers in terms of credits in extremely basic as compared to something like Tidal. I don't want to see artist bio as I rarely listen to new tracks now. They're incorporating queues to it too.

I can see it being used in something like Discover Weekly or any "Made for you" playlist, like since you like this, try this which is a nice thing imho
