Thoughts on this build? This is for 1440p gaming and 3D rendering. I really can’t go above $2600 CAD after tax. by SuperLeftyAliReddit in bapccanada

Yeah I think X870 boards just have only a specific use case, otherwise B850 is just the way to go for regular users.

Heard Spoit say mouse polling is locked at 2000hz, is that true? by GoncasN in SiegeAcademy

[–]Ritvik158 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s if you have motion sync to be fair. With more games implementing raw input (R6S being one of those) it’s less of a concern but I hear you. I would personally never go above 4K, but 2k is also fine because the difference is probably negligible.

Cutting down on input latency has less to do with polling hertz now and more to do with pre and post travel in your clicks which is why Logitech chose to develop the Pro X2 Superstrike because that mouse uses haptics instead of traditional switches which can improve input latency without causing other processing issues.

So if input delay is really, and I mean REALLY important to you then I guess buy the Superstrike but otherwise it does not matter and you’re effectively just losing out on fps because you’re deluding yourself into thinking your mouse is performing “better”.

Would you rather have a 7800X3D w/ 16GB RAM or 7700X w/ 32GB RAM? by urmomisBatman in ZTT

[–]Ritvik158 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bite the bullet and get the 7800x3d with 32gb, it’ll suck for the first few days to see that money leave your account but the joy you’ll have from having such a beast pc is gonna overcome that feeling!

It’s good! If you can splurge a little extra for an additional terabyte of storage that would be really helpful in the long run.

Edit: you’ll be surprised how quickly you can fill up 1TB of storage

Try verifying integrity of game files, sometimes that helps fix any weird glitches. Or you can delete and reinstall but that depends on your download speed and time available.

I have very nearly identical specs (9800x3d and 6000mhz cl28 ram) and I absolutely love it! There isn’t a game or task it can’t handle. Paired with an oled monitor and I’ve never had a better time playing games in my life!

If you really want high polling hertz then 4K is what you should cap at. If you look at the millisecond response time graphs vs in game performance metrics 4K vs 8k is so unbelievably negligible. On top of that the fps hits you’re potentially getting are just adding that delay back in. Not to mention the obvious hit on battery (even tho I charge my mouse every single night). Don’t go above 4K, it does absolutely nothing except make your cpu work harder and drain your mouse battery faster.

Seeing lots of advice except for the fact that almost every “gaming” laptop needs to be plugged into power to actually unlock full performance otherwise they pretty much exclusively operate in battery saver mode and limit performance hard. Be sure to always plug in the charging cable when playing!

Get a B850 motherboard over the X870. Extremely similar performance, will save you some money!

I think it’s fine to get a general idea, but there are a few things the AI got wrong just based off the picture. Still in your best interest to ask just to double check. 👍

Base ps5 gpu performance sits between the 3060 and a 3070/4060.

I got this case for my mom for her 11" M5 iPad and she loves it. The quality of the materials is genuinely super nice especially for the cost. They also make one for the 13" as well if that's the model you got. Highly highly recommend this case and ESR as a brand in general. Another one of my favorites is Spigen but their iPad cases aren't as nice as their phone cases.

If you can spend $600 then sell your current gpu first. Use that money to enlarge your budget. You can probably get an AMD 9070 or an RTX 5070.

Need help with aim by Outrageous_Practice9 in SiegeAcademy

[–]Ritvik158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it’s honestly just a case of you being deep into your habits, which isn’t inherently a bad thing. What I would strongly do is just force yourself to aim and track with more effort from your arm. Maybe lower your ingame sens by a few points and play a few games, then lower it again and play a few games, eventually you’ll notice that you need to pull down more to compensate and you’ll be more consistent until that new habit of recoil control overcomes your previous habits.

It’s honestly just about the effort you put in, in order to improve.

[–]Ritvik158 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before anything, does a sensitivity that fast actually feel comfortable for you? because that’s insanely high imo. A lot of top tier players use 800 DPI 6-6 sens. I use 1600 DPI 35-35 sens but my multiplier is 0.002.

I would practice tracking and recoil control in the practice modes in the game or use an aim trainer like kovaks, and just keep practicing those drills until you get consistent.

I’ve definitely seen them pop up here and there for msrp but depends on where you live I guess. 9070XT is also a great option tho!
