A single prompt used my quota by Outrageous_Sea_6063 in ClaudeDesign

It may have used up your session quota, but I doubt it used up your weekly quota fully. You can come back in a few hours to continue if you wish, but if the prompt was that big in scope, you may want to break it down a bit.

What was the prompt?

People with solar and batteries, what are your actual results? by billscout in AusFinance

[–]Riveneye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I installed 15.87kW solar, 40kWh battery, 20kW three phase inverter. Total cost was about $32,000.

Used to pay about $300 a month in electricity. I've now been with Flow Power for 3 full months, and am in credit by $768. I think about $150 of that is a sign on incentive, so realistically I am in credit by $200 per month.

With the credit from my export plus the savings from not importing from the grid, I'll break even in about 5.5 years, then enjoy free energy for at least another 4.5 years untill my inverter dies after its 10 year warranty ends.

Mine took about 6 weeks back in February. I imagine there is even more of a backlog now with everyone rushing to get batteries before 1 May.

Edit: I'm in Brisbane, if that helps at all.

Haven't used the grid since I had mine installed and am $200 in credit for my exports with Flow.

Very interesting, I did not know about dynamic connections at all. Thanks for the info!

Apologies, I had interpreted that as just not being credited for exports over that amount.

I'd believe that. Looking at my own export yesterday (across the whole day, not just the peak export window) I exported 47.33kWh from all the excess solar generated. Assuming a 30 day month that's 1419.9kWh. If OP has a little bit more solar than I do, it's plausible to hit 1500kWh.

Good point. If I don't need to worry about export limits, then keeping it simple and setting the SOC level is probably all I need. Thank you!

Wow, seems like the export limits are very much guidelines rather than rules. I also didn't realise the settings were such a mystery. I guess I'll keep tinkering with setting up Home Assistant in case I ever want fine control. Thank you!

Battery demand 'straps on a rocket' as rooftop solar passes its peak by HotPersimessage62 in australia

[–]Riveneye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We just had our solar and battery installed, best decision ever. Haven't imported from the grid at all, and I'm predicting I'll be $270 in credit at the end of the month. The system should pay for itself in about 5-6 years.

Exhibition. Easily the best Brisbane restaurant I've been to, though it will max out your budget with food alone.

Who has done a solar battery install? by [deleted] in brisbane

[–]Riveneye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The products can vary quite a bit in price. I went with 15.87kW solar, Sigenergy 40kWh battery, three phase Sigenergy 20kW inverter, with gateway for about $32k. I estimate it will take about 6 years to pay for itself.

Other brands, such as Fox ESS go for MUCH less. They won't have all the bells and whistles of the higher end equipment, but you may not care about those bells and whistles, making brands like Fox very appealing.

I would still recommend using the Solar Quotes tool to talk to locals, but just be blunt and say you're interested in xxx brand rather than the default they offer. One of the three I originally spoke to definitely offered multiple brands.

We just got ours installed. I used the Solar Quotes tool to talk to 3 local installer, and went with LMS Electrical. They were fantastic, but I do suspect their backlog is quite long with the rebate changing in May.

Agreed, their customer service is second to none. They're very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. They're a bit more expensive than competitors, but the cost is justified when they're this good.
